| Objective:To understand the current situation of time management disposition, research self-efficacy and research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing, and to analyze the relationship among them, and to explore the factors affecting the research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing,so as to provide reference for improving the research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing.Methods:1.The research objects were the academic master degree students of nursing science from 2017 to 2019 in 18 domestic general colleges and universities.Adolescent Time Management Tendency Scale,Research Self-efficacy Questionnaire for Academic Masters and Research Ability Evaluation Questionnaire for Nursing Postgraduates were used to investigate the data.SPSS 21.0 software was used to conduct descriptive statistical analysis,t test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis and Process Mediation Model test.2.On the basis of the investigation,a semi-structured interview was conducted with 13 subjects on the influencing factors of research ability, and the data were analyzed by thematic analysis method.Results:1.The total score of research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing was(89.41±13.11),the average score of items was(3.58±0.52),and the lowest score was(3.25±0.72)in research practice ability. There were statistically significant differences in the scores of research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing in different grades, frequency of attending lectures, frequency of attending academic conferences(including communication),interest in research, and whether they participated in the mentor’s project or planned to pursue doctoral studies(all P<0.05).2.The score of time management disposition of academic postgraduates of nursing was(3.58±0.39).The highest score of dimension was time value(3.80±0.51),and the lowest was time monitoring(3.46±0.41).There were statistically significant differences in the scores of time management disposition of academic postgraduates of nursing in terms of whether they participated in the tutor’s project, different frequency of lectures, different research interests, and whether they had the intention to read a doctoral degree(all P<0.05).3.The score of research self-efficacy of academic postgraduates of nursing was(3.57±0.54).The highest score was in the process of assumption(3.64±0.58),and the lowest score was in the process of research implementation(3.50±0.60).There were significant differences in the scores of research self-efficacy of academic postgraduates of nursing among different grades, the frequency of lectures, the frequency of academic conferences(including exchanges),the interest in scientific research and whether or not there was a plan to read a doctor(all P<0.05).4.The research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing was positively correlated with time management disposition and research self-efficacy(r=0.538、0.699,P<0.01),and research self-efficacy was positively correlated with time management disposition(r=0.601,P<0.01).5.The research self-efficacy of academic postgraduates of nursing plays a mediating role between time management disposition and research ability, and the mediating effect accounted for 65.71% of the total effect.6.The interview data extracted three themes that affect the research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing, which are self-factors,mentor factors and school factors.Self-factors include self-requirement,self-control ability and learning ability;mentor factors include mentor resources, mentor research ability and mentor guidance ability;school factors include school graduation requirements, school platform and resources.Conclusion:1.The overall level of research ability, time management disposition and research self-efficacy of academic postgraduates of nursing in Chinese general colleges and universities is good, but the research practice ability is still relatively lacking.Grade, frequency of lectures, frequency of academic conferences(including exchanges),research interest, participation in mentor’s projects and the intention of reading doctoral degree affect the level of research ability.2.The time management disposition of academic postgraduates of nursing can positively predict the research self-efficacy and research ability, and the research self-efficacy can positively predict the research ability.3.Time management disposition of academic postgraduates of nursing can indirectly affect research ability through the mediating effect of research self-efficacy.4.The level of research ability of academic postgraduates of nursing is influenced by many factors, such as themselves, mentors and schools. |
