A Study On The Influence Of Social Support On Health Of The Migrant Elderly

Under the background of the New-type Urbanization,the Population Aging and the strategy of "Healthy China",the scale of the migrant elderly is expanding and will continue to grow,and their health problems have gradually become an important livelihood issue.Due to the economic gap between urban and rural areas,the institutional differences between regions,and social psychological isolation and other reasons,the migrant elderly are facing more difficult practical difficulties in terms of physical and mental health than the ordinary elderly.At the same time,in the process of providing social support to the migrant elderly by multiple subjects,in addition to the problems of incomplete coverage and insufficient support provided by various subjects,the coordinated supply between different subjects also has problems such as unclear positioning and lack of support,which to some extent restricts the role of social support by multiple subjects,resulting in the contradiction between supply and demand of social support in terms of health.Based on the social support theory,the health demand theory and the collaborative governance theory,this paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework of the impact of multi-subject social support on the health of the migrant elderly from the perspective of relevant literature.Using the 2018 CHARLS data,this paper uses Logit regression method and PSM estimation method to explore the impact of multi-subject social support on the health of the migrant elderly from the perspectives of family,community and government.The results show that: First,support from family,community and government have a positive impact on the physical and mental health of the migrant elderly,and the comprehensive impact of multi-subject social support on their physical and mental health is also positive.Second,there is an interactive effect between social support of different subjects.The interactive effect of support of family and government is positive for the physical and mental health of the migrant elderly.Third,the analysis of the migrant elderly in different groups shows that there is no group difference in the impact of social support on the physical and mental health of the migrant elderly due to gender characteristics,marital status and educational level.To improve the overall health level of the migrant elderly,it is necessary to accelerate the formation of a pluralistic social support system to improve the health level of the migrant elderly.To build a multi-subject social support system that each subject cooperates with each other and performs its duties,clarify government responsibilities and play a leading role;improving community services and making cohesion and supplement;Strengthen the family function,stable subject status.To provide effective multi-subject social support for the development of health care for the migrant elderly,lay the foundation for overcoming the difficulties in the health care service system in China,provide practical support for the realization of the strategy of ’ Healthy China ’,and make positive contributions to the overall quality of urbanization in China.
