| Objective:Weight loss is an important part of the treatment strategy for polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Compared with traditional lifestyle management and medication,bariatric surgery has a significant and lasting weight loss effect.This study used Meta analysis to evaluate the efficacy of bariatric surgery in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome.Methods:Search Pub Med,Cochrane Library,Embase and CNKI databases.The search time starts from the establishment of each database and ends in June 2020.Collect the relevant studies of obese PCOS patients treated by bariatric surgery.The outcome indicators were menstrual disorders,hirsutism,total testosterone,and body mass index.The included studies were evaluated for methodological quality,and Rev Man5.3 software was used for aggregate analysis.Result: A total of 9 studies were included,with a total sample size of 212 cases.The results of meta-analysis are as follows: the incidence of menstrual disorders in PCOS patients after bariatric surgery decreased(RR=0.10,95%CI: 0.04-0.26,p<0.05),and the incidence of hirsutism decreased(RR=0.49,95%CI: 0.28-0.86,p<0.05),serum total testosterone level decreased(MD=-26.59,95% CI:-30.73--22.44,p<0.05),body mass index decreased(MD=-15.76,95% CI:-20.64-10.89,p<0.05).Conclusion: Bariatric surgery can reduce the incidence of menstrual disorders in obese PCOS patients,improve hirsutism and hyperandrogenemia,and reduce body mass index.It is an effective management method for the treatment of PCOS. |
