| Background and Purpose:Dietary-induced inflammation has been demonstrated to underlying pathophysiology of many chronic diseases.Especially atherosclerosis, the association between inflammatory markers and atherosclerosis plague has been well established.Pro-inflammatory dietary reflected by dietary inflammatory index(DII)was positive associated with concentration of some inflammatory markers. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the predictive value of DII on atherosclerosis severity.Method:Patients included in this study were ischemic cerebrovascular disease hospitalized in Jinling Hospital,intracranial/extracranial artery stenosis were assessed based on carotid angiography(CTA)and intracranial magnetic resonance angiography(MRA)or digital subtraction angiography(DSA).Dietary data were collected by a validated food-frequency questionnaire(FFQ).The severity of stenosis was classified to three groups, less than 30%,30%to 69%stenosis,≥70%stenosis.Multivariable logistical regression was used to analyze the association between DⅡ and severity of stenosis. Results:A total of 270 patients were included in this analysis,86(31.9%)patients were classified as mild stenosis,51(18.9%)as moderate and 133(49.2%)as severe stenosis, compared with mild stenosis,DII score are higher in moderate(-0.16 vs.-0.46,P=0.676)and severe(0.33 vs.-0.46,P=0.042)stenosis group, after adjusted potential confounders,in multivariate ordinary logistical regression, dietary inflammatory index is correlated with increased risk of atherosclerosis stenosis(OR=1.13,95%CI:1.03-1.24 P=0.010).Patients take pro-inflammatory diet pattern have higher level of NLR and CRP than anti-inflammatory diet pattern(2.0 vs.2.3,P=0.015)(1.8 vs.2.3,P=0.035).Conclusion:This study indicated that the higher DⅡ score indicated pro-inflammatory diet pattern are positively associated with inflammatory markers and severity of extranial and intracranial arteries stenosis. |
