The Effect Of Buyang Huanwu Decoction On The Inflammatory Response After Proximal Humeral Fracture In The Elderly

ObjectiveBy measuring the content of some inflammatory factors in serum and comparing the change trend of swelling and pain of the affected limb,the effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction on the early inflammatory response after proximal humeral fracture in the elderly was explored.MethodFrom April 2019 to March 2020,70 elderly patients with proximal humeral fracture of qi deficiency and blood stasis type were enrolled in the seven departments of bone of Foshan Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine.According to the method of random number table,they were divided into control group and experimental group(Buyang Huanwu Decoction group)with 35 cases each.The control group was treated with splint fixation,external application of the yellow water of the Department of injury,oral injury removing tablet,Sanqi Huayu oral liquid,supplemented by intermediate frequency pulse,infrared radiation and other basic treatment.On this basis,the experimental group was treated with Buyang Huanwu Decoction,one dose a day,and both groups were treated for one week before operation.On the 1st,3rd and 7th day of treatment,the concentrations of TNF-α,IL-6 and CRP in the serum of the two groups were measured,the difference of peripheral diameter between the affected limb and the healthy side was observed,and the difference and the change trend of pain were compared.ResultIn this study,70 elderly patients with proximal humeral fracture were selected,which met the inclusion criteria without exclusion criteria.No patients fell off or were excluded from the beginning to the end.There was no significant difference between the two groups in gender,age,neer classification of fracture and injury site(P>0.05).In terms of VAS pain score,there was no significant difference between the two groups on the first day of treatment(P>0.05),but there were significant differences on the third and seventh day of treatment(P<0.01).Compared with the control group,there was no significant difference in the IL-6 content of the experimental group on the first day(P>0.05),and there was significant difference in the IL-6 content of the two groups on the third day and the seventh day(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in peripheral diameter difference,TNF-α and CRP serum content between the two groups on the first and third day of treatment(P>0.05),but there were significant differences on the seventh day of treatment(P<0.01).ConclusionBuyang Huanwu Decoction can effectively improve the early inflammatory reaction of qi deficiency and blood stasis type of proximal humerus fracture in the elderly,reduce the content of TNF-α,IL-6 and CRP in serum,reduce the swelling and pain of the affected limb,control the further aggravation of the inflammatory reaction,shorten the clinical treatment cycle,with better clinical effect.
