Clinical Observation Of Huoxue Quyu Decoction Combined With Zero-profile Cervical Intervertebral Fusion Device In The Treatment Of Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy Of Qi Stagnation And Blood Stasis Type

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Huoxue Quyu Decoction combined with zero-profile cervical intervertebral fusion cage in the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy of qi stagnation and blood stasis type.Methods:The subjects of the study are sixty inpatients who were diagnosed with cervical spondylotic myelopathy(qi stagnation and blood stasis type)by the Zhengzhou Orthopaedic Hospital from July 2017 to September 2018.Based on the diagnostic criteria,the subjects are randomly divided into two different groups,there are thirty cases in each group.One is the experimental group,it includes the subjects who were with anterior cervical decompression and zero-profile interbody fusion and were treated with Huoxue Quyu Decoction after surgery.The other group includes the subjects who were treated with routine treatment after sugery,that is,the control group.The Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA),Neck Disability Index(NDI),Cobb angle,Height of Operation Segment(HOS),clinical symptom score of TCM,complications and fusion rate of intervertebral bone graft were observed and recorded before and after operation.Result:1.There is no significant difference in general conditions before surgery,such as gender,age and course of disease between the two groups(P > 0.05).2.JOA score of cervical spine: After treatment,the scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and there were significant differences between the two groups(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in JOA score between the two groups at 1 month after treatment(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in JOA score at 3 months and 6 months after treatment(P < 0.05).3.NDI: After treatment,NDI in both groups was lower than that before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in NDI score between the two groups at 1 month after treatment(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in NDI score at 3 months and 6 months after treatment(P < 0.05).4.Cobb angle: Comparing with the subjects from the same group,Cobb of both groups are higher after the surgery.There is no significant difference between two groups’ Cobb angle in one month,three months and six months after the surgery(P > 0.05).5.HOS: After treatment,HOS in both groups increased compared with that before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in HOS between the two groups(P > 0.05).6.TCM Clinical Symptom Score: Comparing with the subjects from the same group,Cobb of both groups are higher after the surgery The scores of TCM clinical symptoms are significantly lower after surgery.The scores of TCM clinical symptoms in one month,three months and six months after the surgery(P < 0.05).7.Complications: The incidence of dysphagia was 3.57% in the experimental group and 6.90% in the control group one month after operation;there was no hoarseness in both groups;the incidence of axonal symptoms was 3.57% in the experimental group and 10.34% in the control group;and there was no C5 nerve root paralysis in both groups.8.Intervertebral fusion rate: There is no significant difference between two groups’ intervertebral fusion rates in three months and six months after surgery(P > 0.05).Conclusion: 1.Huoxue Quyu Decoction combined with zero-profile intervertebral fusion cage and simple use of intervertebral fusion cage in the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy of qi stagnation and blood stasis type are both effective in alleviating clinical symptoms,relieving the compression from the spinal cord,improving the cervical physiological curvature and the quality of patients’ lives.2.In the experimental group,Huoxue Quyu Decoction is an effective way to improve spinal cord function and cervical spine dysfunction,and it helps alleviate clinical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine.Huoxue Quyu Decoction combined with ROI-C is safe and useful for treating the cervical spondylotic myelopathy of qi stagnation and blood stasis type,and it requires uncompromising efforts to make relative clinical promotion and further study.
