Insects have a long history of clinical application as medicine,with unique pharmacological activity and chemical structure,and have opened up resources for the development of natural medicine.In recent years,researchers have studied Periplaneta Americana and developed a variety of modern traditional Chinese medicine preparations such as Kangfuxin Liquid,Xinmailong Injection,Ganlong Capsule and Xiaoxie Yigan Tablet.Meanwhile,compounds with novel structures have also been isolated.In this article,the chemical constituents and biological activities of two species of insects were systematically researched.The crude extract was separated by Sephadex LH-20,reverse phase silica gel,chromatography over silica gel,and further purified by semipreparative HPLC.The planar and absolute structure of these compounds were elucidated by high-resolution mass spectroscopy(HR-MS),extensive NMR techniques and ECD analyses.The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant components of Periplaneta Americana were isolated by activity tracing method.Thirty six compounds,including nine new N-acetyldopamine polymers(1-9)were yield.With the aid of atmospheric pressure high-resolution scanning microprobe matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging(AP-SMALDI MSI),the spatial information of N-acetyldopamine polymers in Periplaneta americana.L were presented.Two N-acetyldopamine polymers dimer and trimer,have been detected and found to be specifically distributed in peripheral parts of P.americana,based on high resolution mass spectrometry images of longitudinal section of whole insect and ten external parts of P.americana.Meanwhile,some of the isolated compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory,antioxidant and vasoconstrictor activities.In the past 10 years,the research on toad venom has been continuously in-depth,the research shows that toad venom has anti-tumor,anti-inflammatory and other biological activities,the main active ingredients are bufadienolides,and these components have high activity and high toxicity characteristics.Therefore,in order to obtain highly active and low toxic ingredients,maggots were used to eat toads,and the chemical composition of the maggots was analyzed to observe whether the metabolic action of the maggots changed the chemical composition of the toads.The maggots were isolated and purified by activity tracking method,and a total of eight compounds were obtained,including 5 bufadienolides and 3 amides.
