ObjectiveBy comparing the obesity-related indicators and the improve ment of clinical syndromes of patients with simple obesity of d ampness-heat type with electroacupuncture combined with interna 1 administration of traditional Chinese medicine and electroacu puncture alone, the clinical efficacy of the two is compared,a nd the superiority of electroacupuncture combined with internal administration of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatmen t of this disease is discussed.MethodsSixty-four patients who met the standard were randomly divi ded into two groups:electroacupuncture combined with tradition al Chinese medicine group and simple electroacupuncture group, with 32 cases in each group. The electroacupuncture combined wi th traditional Chinese medicine group was given electroacupunct ure and traditional Chinese medicine(plus or minus Sijunzi dec oction and Wendan decoction)for internal administration, and t he electroacupuncture group was given simple electroacupuncture treatment.Obesity-related indexes(Body Weight,BMI,F%,waist circumference),total symptom score of damp-heat syndrome of s pleen accumulation and individual symptom score of damp-heat sy ndrome of spleen accumulation were observed and recorded in 2 g roups beforeand after treatment. The above related indexes were objectively analyzed by statistical methods and clinical effica cy was determined for electro-acupuncture combined with traditi onal Chinese medicine group and electro-acupuncture group alone.Results1.Record of loss of cases:A total of 30 cases in the elec tro-acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine group completed treatment, and 2 cases fell out.In the electroacupuncture group,a total of 31 cases completed treatment, and 1 case fell out.A total of 3 patients in the two groups fell out, which was with in the normal range and did not affect the test results.2.Obesity-related indicators(Body Weight,BMI,F%,Waist Circumference):Intra-group comparison:After treatment, body weight,BMI,F%and waist circumference of patients in the two groups were c orrelated with those before treatment After treatment, the body weight,BMI,F%and waist circumference of 2 groups were decre ased to a certain extent compared with before treatment, with s tatistical significance(P<0.05).Comparison between groups:After treatment, body weight,BM I,F%and waist circumference of the electroacupuncture combine d with traditional Chinese medicine group were significantly lo wer than those of the electroacupuncture alone group, with stat istical significance(P<0.05).3.Total symptom score and individual symptom score of synd rome of dampness-heat accumulation of spleen:Intra-group comparison:After treatment, the total scores a nd individual scores of patients in the two groups were correla ted with those before treatment; After treatment, the total scor es and individual scores of 2 groups were decreased to a certai n extent compared with those before treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Comparison between groups:After treatment, the total score and the scores of epigastric distention, thirst and drinking 1 ess, loose stool and body drowsiness in the electro-acupuncture combined group were significantly lower than those in the elec tro-acupuncture group alone, with statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups inthe scores of eating less and eating less, nausea and body he at loss(P>0.05).4.Clinical efficacy evaluation:After treatment,6 cases w ere cured,10 cases were significantly effective,9 cases were effective, and 5 cases were ineffective in the group of electro acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine, with a total effective rate of 83.33%.In the simple electroacupuncture group,2 cases were cured,5 cases were significantly effective,15 cases were effective, and 9 cases were ineffective. The tot al effective rate was 70.97%.The clinical efficacy of electroac upuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine group was better than that of electroacupuncture alone group, the differe nee was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Safety evaluation results:No serious adverse events occ urred during the clinical study. One case in the electroacupunct ure combined with traditional Chinese medicine group complained of slight diarrhea after taking traditional Chinese medicine a nd gradually adapted to it,while the other two cases in the si mple electroacupuncture group showed obvious cyanosis at some a cupoints after acupuncture treatment and then absorbed by thems elves.ConclusionThe clinical effect of electroacupuncture combined with int ernal administration of traditional Chinese medicine is better than that of electroacupuncture alone.Compared with electroacup uncture alone, electroacupuncture combined with internal admini stration of traditional Chinese medicine could better improve o besity-related indicators(Body Weight,BMI,F%,Waist Circumfe rence),individual symptoms of dampness-heat syndrome(distenti on and tightness in abdomen, thirst, loose stool, drowsiness an d weight of limb)and overall symptoms of dampness-heat syndrom.
