Objective: To investigate and analyze the status of medical students’ sleep quality and its influencing factors,secondly to evaluate the intervention effect of 3km brisk walking on sleep quality,so as to provide the scientific basis for promoting medical students’ sleep quality.Methods: Using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale to investigate the status of sleep quality of medical students;using single factor analysis and two-category unconditional Logistic regression analysis to analyze the influencing factors of sleep quality from general condition,health behavior,psychosomatic status,environment and self-ability evaluation,type A behavior and so on;using Grounded Theory to qualitatively analyze the semi-structured interview data,then explore the influencing factors of medical students’ sleep quality and suggestions for improvement.On the basis of the current situation investigation,the 3km brisk walking intervention method was adopted to carry out physical intervention to medical students with sleep quality problems,ultimately to evaluate the intervention effect of brisk walking on sleep quality.Results: There were 121 individuals who had poor sleep quality among the 710 medical students,which accounted for 17.0%;the comparison between single factor groups showed that the frequency of breakfast per week,the number of fruit days per week,whether the diet was light,the number of aerobic exercises per week,smoking,drinking,study pressure,tension and anxiety,frequency of loneliness,physical state,employment situation,interpersonal relationship,interpersonal communication ability,social adaptability,family relationship,dormitory sleeping environment,comprehensive self-evaluation,type A behavior,etc.were the influencing factors of sleep quality(P<0.05).Correlation analysis results showed that there existed correlation between the weekly breakfast frequency score and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disturbance,daytime dysfunction dimension scores and the PSQI score(P<0.05),and the fruit days per week score was correlated with sleep disorder,hypnotic drugs,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between the score of the number of aerobic exercises per week,the total score of healthy behavior and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disorder,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05).Study stress score,loneliness frequency score were correlated with subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05),and economic stress score was correlated with PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between stress and anxiety score and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disturbance,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between body state score and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep time,sleep disorder,hypnotic drugs,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between the total score of psychosomatic status and all dimensions and PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between the employment situation evaluation score and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep efficiency,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05),family atmosphere score was correlated with subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disturbance,daytime dysfunction dimension scores and PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between the sleeping environment score in the dormitory and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disorder,hypnotics,daytime dysfunction dimension score,and PSQI score(P<0.05).There existed correlation between the total score of environmental assessment and subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disorders,hypnotic drugs,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05).Interpersonal relationship score,interpersonal communication ability score,social adaptability score,comprehensive selfevaluation score were correlated with subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disorder,daytime dysfunction dimension score and PSQI score(P<0.05).Medical students’ type A behavior score and time urgency score were correlated with subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,sleep disorder,daytime dysfunction dimension score,and PSQI score(P<0.05);competitive awareness and hostility score was correlated with subjective sleep quality,time to fall asleep,daytime dysfunction dimension score,and PSQI score(P<0.05).The subjective sleep quality,hypnotics,daytime dysfunction dimension score and total PSQI score of medical students with type A behavior were higher than those of medical students with non-type A behavior(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that whether smoking,whether drinking,nervousness and anxiety level,physical state,sleeping environment in the dormitory,comprehensive self-evaluation were the factors affecting the sleep quality of medical students(P<0.05);The Grounded Theory qualitative analysis results showed that psychological factors such as test anxiety and work pressure,environmental factors such as noise and light,and biological factors such as hunger and pain were the factors that affected the sleep quality of medical students.After 3km brisk walking exercise intervention for more than 20 times in 6 weeks,the subjective sleep quality,sleep time,sleep disturbance dimension score and PSQI score of the intervention group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The sleep quality of medical students was poor;the factors that affected the sleep quality of medical students mainly included whether they smoke,whether they drink alcohol,the nervousness and anxiety level,physical state,as well as the sleeping environment of the dormitory,self-satisfaction,and the distribution of work and rest time;3km brisk walking could be used to improve the sleep quality of medical students to a certain extent.It is recommended that on the basis of reducing the academic pressure of medical students,reducing tension and anxiety,and improving the sleeping environment in the dormitory,the aerobic exercise plan should be formulated to form exercise health habits to promote the sleep quality of medical students.
