The Coordinated Management In The Prevention And Control Of COVID-19 Outbreak In Taiwan

With the advancement of globalization,infectious diseases have become one of the major threats to international security.Currently,an ongoing pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)is still spreading in many countries and regions.However,Taiwan achieved zero growth of local cases since April 9,2020,which shows that Taiwan has relatively successfully blocked the spread of the COVID-19 virus in its response to this epidemic crisis.We can see that while successfully blocking the local spread of the virus,Taiwan has maintained the normal life and work of the people and ensured the economic development of the region.What makes the success of epidemic prevention in Taiwan?The global outbreak of the epidemic has forced Italy,France and other countries to adopt extreme measures such as complete blockades.Although such measures have effectively suppressed the local spread of the epidemic,they have had a huge impact on the local economic development.In contrast,Taiwan region has no unreasonable fluctuations in its GDP per quarter in 2020,and its annual GDP has increased compared with 2019.It can be seen that while successfully blocking the local spread of the virus,Taiwan in my country has better maintained the normal life and work of the people and ensured the economic development of the region.What factors contributed to the success of epidemic prevention in Taiwan? This thesis examines the action strategies of government departments,grassroots communities,and social organizations in Taiwan in epidemic prevention work.We found that the government,grassroots communities,and social organizations have jointly constructed a collaborative governance platform.The three parties respectively assume the roles of responsible,executor,and participant.They achieve successful epidemic prevention through division of labor and collaboration,based on trust and oriented towards promoting public participation.
