Objective: To investigate the differences in the expression of Fibroblast Growth Factor3(FGF3)between oral squamous carcinoma and paraneoplastic tissues and its effects on the proliferation and apoptosis of oral squamous carcinoma cells.Methods:The expression levels of FGF3 in 30 oral squamous carcinoma tissues and their corresponding 30 paraneoplastic tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry,and patient pathology data were collected to analyze the relationship between FGF3 expression levels and clinicopathological factors.And the tongue squamous carcinoma cell line SCC-9 was divided into blank group,FGF3 intervention group,FGFR inhibitor intervention group,and FGF3+FGFR inhibitor intervention group.MTT assay was used to detect the proliferation of tongue squamous carcinoma cell line,and flow cytometry was used to determine the apoptosis of tongue squamous carcinoma cell line.Results:Immunohistochemistry showed that the high expression rate of FGF3 was96.67%(29/30)and 10%(3/30)in 30 oral squamous carcinoma tissues and 30 paraneoplastic tissues,respectively,and the low expression rate was 3.33%(1/30)and90%(27/30),respectively,and the expression of FGF3 in carcinoma tissues was higher than that in the paraneoplastic tissues,and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.01),MTT assay showed that the cell survival rate was 100.000±4.026% in the blank group,136.330±9.779% in the FGF3 intervention group,83.199±4.954% in the FGFR inhibitor intervention group,and 120.592±7.148 in the FGF3+FGFR inhibitor intervention group.Flow cytometry showed that the apoptosis rate was 5.867±0.945% in the blank group,6.100±0.624% in the FGF3 intervention group,18.833±1.242% in the FGFR inhibitor intervention group,and 12.533±0.321% in the FGF3+FGFR inhibitor intervention group.Conclusion:The expression of FGF3 in the oral squamous carcinoma tissues of 30 patients was significantly higher than that in the paraneoplastic tissues,and there was no significant correlation between the expression level of FGF3 in the oral squamous carcinoma tissues of 30 patients and the patients’ gender,age,tumor size,differentiation degree,lymph node metastasis,tumor stage,and tumor location.It was also hypothesized that FGF3 may promote the proliferation and inhibit the apoptosis of oral squamous carcinoma cells,and participate in the development process of oral squamous carcinoma.
