Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Elderly Patients With Cough Variant Asthma With Wind And Phlegm Blocking Lung Type By Sparing Wind And Resolving Phlegm Formula

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Shufeng Huatan Decoction in treating elderly patients with cough variant asthma with wind-phlegm obstructing the lung syndrome.Methods From December 2019 to November 2020,64 elderly patients with cough variant asthma who met the inclusion criteria of wind-phlegm obstructing lung syndrome were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,with 32 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine(salmeterol and ticasone powder inhalation,50ug/250 ug,inhaled once,twice daily).The treatment group was treated with Shufengtan Decoction on the basis of the control group for 14 days.Observe the TCM syndrome scores of the two groups before and after treatment,the percentage of the forced expiratory volume in the first second to the total expiratory volume(FEV1/FVC%),the percentage of the forced expiratory volume in the first second to the predicted value(FEV1%),and the respiratory peak Flow rate(PEF)and peripheral blood eosinophils(ECOS)counts and changes in safety indicators.Results The scores of primary symptoms(cough)and secondary symptoms(expectation,itchy throat,chest tightness,shortness of breath,nasal congestion,runny nose)scores,FEV1%,FEV1/FVC%,PEF values,and peripheral blood ECOS counts of the two groups of patients after treatment were all Improve(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of primary symptoms(cough),secondary symptoms(expectation,pharyngeal itching,chest tightness,shortness of breath),FEV1%,FEV1/FVC%,PEF value,and peripheral blood ECOS count of the treatment group improved better than those of the control group(P<0.05),but the scores for improving secondary symptoms(stuffy nose and runny nose)were similar in the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the effective rate of the treatment group(84.3%)was better than that of the control group(65.5%)(P<0.05).The vital signs of the two groups of patients were relatively stable before and after treatment,and there were no obvious abnormalities in hematuria and stool tests and liver and kidney function indexes(P<0.05),and there was no adverse reaction.Conclusion Shufeng Huatan Decoction can improve the clinical manifestations,lung function(FEV1%,FEV1/FVC%,PEF)and peripheral blood(ECOS)counts of elderly patients with CVA with wind-phlegm obstructing lung syndrome.
