Effect Of Mirror Therapy Combined With Acupuncture On Upper Limb Motor Dysfunction In Cerebral Apoplexy

Objective: The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of mirror therapy(MT)combined with acupuncture therapy(AT)on upper limb motor dysfunction and quality of life in patients with hemiplegia after stroke.Methods: According to the inclusion criteria,72 patients were randomly divided into AT group and MT+AT group.On the basis of internal medicine and rehabilitation training,AT group received acupuncture treatment for 30 min.The MT+AT group was tre ATed with mirror therapy for 30 min minutes on the basis of at group.Patients in both groups were treated once a day,5 days a week,for 2 weeks.Before and after treatment,the upper limb part of the affected side(FMA-UE),the integral EMG value of biceps and triceps brachii(i EMG),the synergistic contraction rate of elbow flexion(CR)and the modified Barthel index were evaluated in the two groups before and after treatment.The test results were statistically analyzed by SPSS25.0.Results:1.Before treatment,the general data,FMA-UE score,modified Barthel index score,i EMG and CR of biceps and triceps brachii were comparable.2.The results of intra-group comparison: FMA-UE score,modified Barthel index score and i EMG of biceps brachii muscle were significantly higher than those before treatment(P < 0.01).Compared with before treatment,i EMG of triceps brachii muscle on the affected side increased in both groups,while CR of upper limbs on the affected side decreased(P < 0.05),which was statistically significant.3.Comparison of groups: after treatment,the scores of FMA-UE and modified Barthel index in AT+MT group were significantly higher than those in AT group,the i EMG of biceps brachii in AT+MT group was higher than that in AT group,and the CR of affected side in AT+MT group was lower than that in AT group.Conclusion: Mirror image therapy combined with acupuncture has a beneficial effect on the improvement of upper limb motor function and activities of daily living in convalescent stroke patients,and can improve the coordination between biceps and triceps during elbow flexion.
