Study On The Difference Of Curative Effect Between Two Treatment Methods Of Jaw Cyst

Objective: To study the difference of two surgical methods in the treatment of jaw cyst.Methods: A total of 40 patients with preoperative cyst diameter ≥3.0cm admitted to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,First Affiliated Yijishan Hospital,Wannan Medical College from January 2018 to June 2020 were revisited.Among them,22 cases underwent curettage and 18 cases underwent marsupialization.Collected records including the patients information collection,surgical records,postoperative follow-up of 3 to 24 months(Panoramic,CBCT,etc),analysis of the above data to explore that there is significant difference in the efficacy of the two surgical methods for large jaw cyst(diameter ≥3.0cm),so as to guide the selection of surgical methods for the treatment of jawbone cyst.Results:(1)The patients were divided into observation group(curettage)and control group(marsupialization)according to different surgical methods.Among them,there were 22 patients in the observation group,with an average age of(45.4±16.5)years old,and 18 patients in the control group,with an average age of(37.4±18.6)years old.There was no statistical significance in the age difference between the two groups.(2)The difference between the reduction of the average cyst diameter at 3 months,6months and 12 months after surgery and that before surgery was calculated,and then the difference between the results at the same time period in each group was compared respectively.It can be seen that the diameter of the surgical cystic cavity changed to similar degree in the two groups at the third month after surgery,and the results were not statistically significant.At the 6th and 12 th month after surgery,the change degree of the diameter of the postoperative cyst in the control group was more obvious than the observation group,and the results were statistically significant(P < 0.05).(3)The patients with a continuous decrease in the maximum cyst diameter within 1 year after operation were considered to be effective.The patients with no change or even negative increase were considered as failure of operation.The results showed that both groups of operations were effective.Conclusion: For the treatment of large jaw cysts(diameter ≥3.0cm),both curettage and marsupialization have good therapeutic effects.Although marsupialization has its advantages,it is also suitable for the selection of clinical surgery on the precondition of not damaging the important tissue structure.
