| Objective:Objective to understand the status quo of knowledge, attitude and practice of PICU nurses on children’s delirium and analyze its influencing factors,to clarify the influencing factors of PICU nurses’assessment of delirium, and to analyze the problems existing in the current assessment of PICU delirium,so as to provide reference for the establishment of a scientific, localized and standardized management system of children’s delirium in PICU.Methods:A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among 170 PICU nurses in six hospitals from May 2020 to October 2020 by cluster sampling.Survey tools include:general situation questionnaire,PICU nurses delirium KAP questionnaire, hinder nurses delirium assessment factors questionnaire.Spss24.0software was used for data analysis. The statistical methods used included descriptive analysis, independent sample t-test,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple stepwise regression analysis.Result:(1)The total score of knowledge, attitude and behavior of pediatric delirium of PICU nurses was 80.09±16.62、13.77±4.37、35.85±6.25 and 30.46±7.97respectively.The average scores were 70.2%、57.4%、79.7%and 67.7%respectively after percentage conversion.(2)There were significant differences in the attitude scores of PICU nurses with different education background, professional title, age,PICU nursing age, whether they are intensive care specialist nurses and whether they have nursing experience for delirium children were statistically significant(P<0.05).Stepwise regression showed that the knowledge scores of PICU nurses with 2~5 years of nursing age had a significant positive impact, while nurses, nurses and whether they are intensive care specialist nurses had a significant negative impact,R~2=0.196.(3)There were significant differences in the attitude scores of PICU nurses with different educational background,PICU nursing age, whether they were intensive care specialist nurses and whether they had nursing experience for delirium children(P<0.05);stepwise regression showed that less than 2 years of PICU nursing age had a significant negative impact on the attitude scores, and knowledge score had a significant positive impact on the attitude scores,R~2=0.423.(4)There were significant differences in behavior scores among PICU nurses with different education background, professional title,PICU nursing age, whether they were intensive care specialist nurses, and whether they had nursing experience for delirium children(P<0.05);stepwise regression showed that less than 2 years of PICU nursing age had a significant negative impact on behavior scores, while attitude score and knowledge score had a significant positive impact on behavior scores,R~2=0.666.(5)The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between cognition and behavior, cognition and attitude, cognition and behavior.(6)The survey results of influencing factors of delirium assessment of PICU nurses showed that:Children’s level was the main factor, followed by personal level, and finally the department level.Conclusion:(1)PICU nurses have poor knowledge of children’s delirium.Although they have a positive attitude towards children’s delirium, their nursing behavior is poor.(2)The status of delirium assessment of nurses in PICU is worrying. The primary factor influencing delirium assessment of nurses in PICU comes from the level of children, nurses and departments.(3)PICU nursing managers and nursing educators should pay attention to guiding nurses to improve their academic qualifications and professional titles, expand the scope of intensive care specialist training personnel, and improve the training of junior nurses.(4)PICU nursing managers need to incorporate the assessment of children’s delirium into the process as soon as possible, and establish a localized, scientific and standardized management system of children’s delirium. |
