ObjectiveAt present, there are few related clinical studies focusing on the treatment of insomnia with the ghost points. This study adopted a randomized controlled trial to observe the clinical efficacy of treating insomnia which belong to the liver depression transforming fire by acupuncture at the ghost points or routine acupoint selection.By evaluating the effectiveness and safety of the treatment group in the treatment of insomnia caused by liver depression transforming fire,We can find new diagnosis and treatment ideas and more efficient and personalized treatment methods in traditional acupuncture for the modern treatment of liver depression and fire-type insomnia, and the treatment plan also provides a factual basis for the wider application of the ghost points.Methods64 patients insomnia. The patients were divided into 32 cases in the treatment group and 32 cases in the control group by random grouping method. The treatment group was acupuncture in the ghost points, and the control group was routine acupuncture. Both groups were treated every other day,and 7 treatments constituted a course of treatment for a total of 1 courses. The efficacy indicators included PSQI score,SAS score,TCM syndrome score were evaluated before and after the end of the treatment. The results are evaluated with SPSS23.0 statistical software to evaluate the efficacy.Results1.In the comparison of general data, there is no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in terms of gender, age and disease course(P>0.05),indicating that the baseline level of the treatment group and the control group are roughly the same, which has comparative significance. In addition, the PSQI,SAS and TCM syndrome scores of the two groups of subjects before treatment showed no significant difference after statistical evaluation(P>0.05),indicating that the symptom characteristics of the two groups before the treatment are evenly distributed. It has the conditions for further comparison after treatment.2.Intra-group comparison:After the end of the 1 courses of treatment, the total PSQI scores of the two groups of patients and the other six components(sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbance, daytime dysfunction)except hypnotics),SAS,and TCM syndrome scores showed obvious improvement with statistical significane(P<0.05),indicating that both the treatment group and the control group can improve the sleep quality and anxiety emotion of the patients belong to liver depression transforming fire-type insomnia,as well as accompanying symptoms of Chinese medicine.3.Comparison between groups:After the end of the 1 courses of treatment, the decrease before and after treatment in the treatment group is more significant than the control group, such as the PSQI total score, the sleep quality, the time to fall asleep, and day dysfunction,SAS,TCM syndrome scores and so on.The difference between the two group is statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment group is reducing the total PSQI score, especially in improving sleep quality, reducing time to fall asleep, relieving daytime dysfunction more effectivly than the control group,as well as relieving anxiety and improving the symptoms of insomnia caused by liver depression transforming fire. However, there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in terms of sleep time, sleep efficiency, and sleep disorders(P>0.05).4.Overall curative effect:in the treatment group,4 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 87.5%,3 cases were cured,12 cases were markedly effective and 13 cases were effective;while in the control group,10 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 68.75%,1 case was cured,6 cases were markedly effective and 15 cases were effective.Statistical analysis indicated that the effective rates of the two groups were significantly different(P<0.05),indicating that the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at the ghost points group is significantly better than that of the routine acupuncture group in treating patients with liver depression and fire-type insomnia.ConclusionBoth acupuncture at the ghost points and routine acupuncture can effectively improve the patient’s sleep quality, relieve the anxiety caused by sleep disorders, and the TCM symptoms caused by liver depression and fire-type insomnia, and reduce the total PSQI score. In terms of improving the overall feeling of sleep quality, reducing time to fall asleep, improving daytime dysfunction, alleviating anxiety, and improving TCM syndromes, the treatment group showed better clinical efficacy than the control group, and no adverse reactions were seen in the report. Therefore, acupuncture at the ghost points for the treatment of liver depression and fire-type insomnia is a green, safe and highly effective traditional Chinese medicine therapy, which provides new treatment ideas and more personalized treatment for insomnia caused by liver depression to fire.
