| Aims: To research the expression of C-myc and Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in laterally spreading tumor(LST),in order to inquire into the acting mechanism and clinical significance of the two in LST.Methods: Collecting pathological specimens including 30 cases of LST in Digestive endoscopy center of Chenzhou Hospital Affiliated to University of South China and 30 cases of adenomatous polyp of the colon(APC)admitted in this hospital from January 2017 to August 2020,as well as tissue microarray including colorectal cancer(CC)and normal colonic mucosa(NCE)produced by Shanghai Tufei Biotech Company(including 77 couples and selecting 30 couples randomly),totally 120 cases as the research objects,examining the expression of C-myc and VEGF in these 4 groups.Using immunohistochemical method to exam the expression of the two index,and SPSS 19.0 for statistical analysing.Results: 1.The positive expression rate of C-myc in NCE,APC,LST,CC is13.3%,40.0%,70.0%,93.3%,and there are obvious differences in these four groups(χ~2=44.140,P<0.001),the positive expression rate in CC is higher than that in LST(χ~2=5.455,P=0.020),APC(χ~2=19.200,P<0.001)and NCE(χ~2=38.571,P<0.001),LST is higher than APC(χ~2=5.455,P=0.020)and NCE(χ~2=19.817,P<0.001),APC is higher than NCE(χ~2=5.455,P=0.020).The expression intensity of C-myc in NCE,APC,LST and CC also has differences,CC is stronger than LST(Z=-2.871,P=0.004),APC(Z=-4.515,P<0.001)and NCE(Z=-6.260,P<0.001),LST is stronger than APC(Z=-2.237,P=0.025)and NCE(Z=-4.599,P<0.001),APC is stronger than NCE(Z=-2.495,P=0.013).2.The positive expression rate of VEGF in NCE,APC,LST,CC is10.0%,33.3%,63.3%,86.7%,and there are obvious differences in these four groups(χ~2=40.712,P<0.001),the positive expression rate in CC is higher than that in LST(χ~2=4.356,P=0.037),APC(χ~2=17.788,P<0.001)and NCE(χ~2=35.306,P<0.001),LST is higher than APC(χ~2=5.406,P=0.020)and NCE(χ~2=18.373,P<0.001),APC is higher than NCE(χ~2=4.812,P=0.028).The expression intensity of VEGF in NCE,APC,LST and CC also has differences,CC is stronger than LST(Z=-2.510,P=0.012),APC(Z=-4.256,P<0.001)and NCE(Z=-5.918,P<0.001),LST is stronger than APC(Z=-2.230,P=0.026)and NCE(Z=-4.362,P<0.001),APC is stronger than NCE(Z=-2.291,P=0.022).3.Correlation analysis between C-myc and VEGF:the positive expression of C-myc was positively correlated with the positive expression of VEGF in LST(r=0.729,P<0.001),the positive expression of C-myc was also positively correlated with the positive expression of VEGF in CC(r=0.572,P=0.001).Conclusions:1.C-myc is highly expressed in LST,APC and CC,and the positive expression rate and expression intensity in LST are higher than APC,which maybe related to the higher carcinogenesis risk of LST than other adenomas.2.In LST,APC and CC,VEGF is highly expressed,and both of the positive expression rate and expression intensity in LST are higher than APC,which maybe related to the higher carcinogenesis risk of LST than other adenomas.3.There is a positive correlation between C-myc and VEGF expression in LST.It is possible that meanwhile high expression of both may synergistically promote the carcinogenesis of LST. |
