Use Orbicularis Oculi Muscle Flap To Fill The Upper Eyelid Depression

Objective:Analyzed the surgical effect of the orbicularis oculi muscle flap filling the upper eyelid depression for clinical treatment of patients with upper eyelid depression,and summarized the characteristics of the operation and compared it with other surgical procedures.Methods:A retrospective analysis of 19 patients with mild-to-moderate physiological upper eyelid depression treated from September 2019 to November 2020(a total of 38 eyes were treated),of which 1 case had undergone incision double eyelid surgery,and 4 cases were after buried thread double eyelid surgery.All patients were treated at Beijing Medical Beauty Hospital,and the upper eyelid depression was corrected by filling the orbicularis oculi muscle flap through the double eyelid incision under local anesthesia.Results:All the 19 patients had a successful operation and were discharged on the day after the operation.After 3-12 months of follow-up,no complications such as hematoma,infection,ptosis,and recurrence of upper eyelid depression occurred.Sixteen patients(84.2%)showed a plump appearance after the operation,and the appearance of the upper eyelid with a smooth incision.The patients were very satisfied.In 2 cases(10.5%),the upper eyelid skin was smooth after the operation,the depression was improved,and they were satisfied with the shape.One patient(5.3%)was still dissatisfied with the fullness of the upper eyelid after the operation,and was improved by autologous fat injection.Conclusion:Orbicularis oculi muscle flap filling method is a good method to correct upper eyelid depression.The operation method is through double eyelid incision.Double blepharoplasty or correction of ptosis can be performed while correcting upper eyelid depression,avoiding secondary incision.After the operation,the local skin was relatively smooth,and the double eyelid line was smooth.The operation is safe,with few complications,and there is no postoperative absorption of muscle relative fat.It has good long-term effects and high patient satisfaction,which is worthy of further promotion.
