Method:According to the population and the number of infected cases,three counties and the urban area of Fuyang which with severe epidemic prevention and control situation were selected by purposive sampling,and the designated hospitals for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in each county and a random designated hospital in Fuyang urban area were selected.Medical staff on duty initiated this investigation.The survey includes general information,self-made questionnaires,Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)and Self-Rating Status of Sleep(SRSS).SPSS 25 statistical software was used to analyze the data.Results:A total of 236 valid questionnaires were collected.1.Front-line medical staff in Fuyang have a high exposure risk.45.76%of medical staff have been directly exposed to confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19,and clinical and medical technical departments are higher than administrative logistics departments.2.The workload or working hours of most front-line medical staff have decreased or remained unchanged,and only some have increased significantly.3.The positive rate of SDS among front-line medical staff was 33.1%,and there was no significant difference in each component.The positive rate of SAS was 19.9%,and the positive rate of SAS in non-high exposure risk departments was higher than that in high exposure risk departments(P=0.029).The SAS positive rate of non-medical professionals was higher than that of medical professionals(P=0.029).Subjective support for men is better than women(P=0.021),doctors are better than other professions(P=0.046);for those who are 21-30 years old,subjective support and SSRS total score are higher than other working age groups(P subjective support=0.020,PSSRS total score=0.042).The sleep status of men is better than that of women(P=0.004).4.Depression is positively correlated with work burden,poor sleep quality,and sleep instability,and negatively correlated with time spent paying attention to the epidemic,objective support.Anxiety is positively correlated with work burden,poor sleep quality,difficulty falling asleep,night-mares and night terrors,and negatively correlated with time spent paying attention to the epidemic.Poor sleep status is positively correlated with female,and negatively correlated with subjective support.Conclusion:At the early stage of the outbreak of the COVID-19,the front-line medical staff in Fuyang had a high exposure risk and poor emotion and somnus quality;non-high exposure risk department staff had a poor mental health than high exposure risk department,attention and psychological support were needed;Social supports were different in genders,working age groups,and professional;Objective support is the protective factor of medical staffs mental health;Gender,objective support,increased work burden,and time spent paying attention to the outbreak can all significantly affect the mental health of medical staff,this can provide direction for psychological intervention.
