| The HPV vaccine is a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization, the medical community, and the International Cancer Defense Agency for the prevention of human papilloma virus(HPV)infection. It is a significant progress in human health research, and is known as "the only vaccine that can prevent cancer in the world." It takes 15 to 20 years for the new vaccine to be accepted and widely used in developing countries, and the dissemination of health information in mass media can affect the audience’s cognition, attitude and even behavior. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the coverage of HPV vaccine in the media for improving the vaccination rate, preventing diseases, establishing a healthy life concept and improving the quality of healthy transmission. From the perspective of health communication, this article uses the People’s Daily Online report on HPV vaccine from 2011 to 2019 as the research sample.Using Content Analysis Method,This paper explores the characteristics of the mainstream network media in HPV vaccine reporting in China from the three dimensions of reporting form, reporting content and reporting demands, analyzes the shortcomings and reasons of mass media in HPV vaccine reporting, and puts forward strategies to improve the level of healthy communication. The study found that the number of HPV vaccines reported by the media showed a volatile upward trend. Most of the reports were informational. The news came from the editors of the reporters, and the reports tended to be positive. There are problems such as a single reporting mode, uneven distribution of reporting issues, incomplete and inaccurate information.Research suggests that the media can change audience perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors during healthy communication. In order to popularize the basic knowledge of popular HPV vaccines and improve the vaccination rate, the media should actively play a public opinion-oriented role, identify the target groups for dissemination, improve the accuracy of health information, innovate reporting models, strengthen communication and interaction with the audience, and focus on the regional balance of health information dissemination. The limitation of this study lies in the fact that the text of the network report is taken as the sample of content research, which reduces the difficulty of data acquisition, but the research method is single, easily influenced by the subjective consciousness of researchers.Although, from the perspective of disseminators, the research scope of media in network health communication has been broadened, the role of audience in health communication has been neglected, which needs further improvement in future research. |
