Zhuangzi’s View Of Life And Death And Its Value Enlightenment To Hospice Care

Life and death are two inevitable stages of life,and the issue of life and death has always been one of the most concerned topics in human history.With the rapid development of culture and economy,people focus more energy on how to improve the quality of life and death.Therefore,hospice care also came into being.As a noble cause that pays attention to the quality of life of the dying patients,strives to alleviate the suffering of the patients and their families,so that they can go to the other side of the world comfortably and peacefully,hospice care started late in China,but its social value cannot be ignored.With the increasing proportion of aging population in China,the public’s demand for hospice care is becoming more and more intense.Although hospice care ultimately refers to clinical application,it still faces many practical difficulties in promoting and developing hospice care due to the influence of traditional moral culture in China and the human nature of survival and fear of death.In the traditional culture system of our country,the culture of entering into wto,which pursues the realistic meaning of life,and the culture of filial piety,which focuses on the blood relationship and kinship,are undoubtedly the two mainstreams.It is undeniable that they play an irreplaceable guiding role in realizing the value of life and promoting the harmony and stability of social ethics.However,as an emerging social undertaking,hospice care inevitably has internal conflicts with traditional culture in its development.To the life,the human instinct has the persistence to the life,to the death existence fear.Therefore,in the face of such a dilemma,the solution should be found from the traditional philosophy.Zhuangzi was the first philosopher in the Pre-Qin period to discuss the issue of life and death systematically.As one of the representatives of Taoist school,he inherited and developed Laozi’s philosophical thought of Taoism and nature,and advocated that life and death should be attributed to nature.On the one hand,he put forward the proposition that life is for me,and death is for me which was natural and optimistic about life and death.To die is to rest cheerfully.In his philosophical system,Zhuangzi depicted a vision of free and easy on the other side of the world,thus trying to dispel people’s fear of death.On the other hand,his view of life and death is also a philosophical thought of unity of life anddeath which advocates to seek enlightenment in thinking with physical and chemical conditions,so as to achieve unity of things and free himself from worldly feelings and persistence in life and death.However,Zhuangzi’s discussion on the issue of life and death has certain enlightenment significance to solve the realistic dilemma of the further development of hospice care in China.Taking Zhuangzi’s view of life and death as the theoretical basis,it is of great theoretical significance and realistic enlightenment value to make the public acquire the open-minded wisdom of life and death,such as nature of life and death,unity of life and death and life and death and happiness.
