Based on the existing clinical defects in the design of the lateral plate of the tibial plate[1],the tibial plateau data was obtained from the 3D CT measurement of the normal Chinese knee joint and the statistics of the collapse area of the articular surface of the lateral tibial plateau fracture were designed to solve the deficiencies in original steel plate design.Objective:To design a new lateral plate for tibial plateau fractures in order to solve the lack of support for the posterolateral platform by the original plate design.Methods:A retrospective analysis of 98 normal knee CT thin slices in our hospital from August 2018 to June 2019,including 46 males and 52 females was held.The scanned images are completed in 3D reconstruction in Mimics,and were measured(lateral platform arc length,Curve coordinate function)by it,the scope of the lateral platform fracture articular surface collapse was also assessed,meanwhile,3D printing technology was used to prefabricate the steel plate according to the design requirements,and the biomechanical measurement of the steel plate is completed after modification.The artificial bone surgery is used to verify whether the design requirements are met.Results:According to the three-dimensional model data fitting function combined with 3D printing design,the biomechanical measurement of the lateral plate of the tibial plateau has achieved the national standards.The artificial bone surgery verification has verified that the articular surface support of the posterolateral plateau and the articular surface support range of the whole lateral plateau meets the design requirements.Conclusion:The new design of the lateral plate of the tibial plateau has greatly improved the support of the posterolateral articular surface of the tibial plateau compared with the commonly used steel plates,and has achieved a closer fit to the bone surface,a stronger fixation,and a more accurate anatomy for the Chinese.It is recommended as the first type of surgery for lateral tibial plateau fractures involving the posterolateral articular surface.
