Objective To understand the status of self-management behavior, mindfulness level, and resilience of patients with type 2 diabetes; To analyze the relationship among self-management,mindfulness level and resilience, and explore the role of mindfulness level in resilience and self-management behavior;Based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, explore the effect of self-help mindfulness intervention on mental health and self-management behavior of patients with type 2diabetes.Method The first stage: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 219 patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in a tertiary hospital in Jiangsu Province from December 2019 to April 2020.The general data questionnaire, mindfulness attention scale, mental resilience scale and self-management behavior scale of diabetic patients were used to investigate and collect the data of patients. The second stage: Based on the principle of voluntary participation,a total of 130 patients with type 2 diabetes were randomly selected, and divided into intervention group and control group by computer random number table according to the order of admission. The control group was treated with routine nursing for diabetic patients, while the intervention group received 8 courses of mindfulness decompression therapy on the basis of the routine nursing. Before and after intervention, the patients’ self-management behavior, mindfulness level, resilience, and self-compassion were evaluated. Results 1.The average score for mindfulness score was(49.90±14.11)points,and the average resilience scores were(45.88±7.96)points,the average self-management behavior of type 2 diabetic patients was(15.58±8.31)points;2.The correlation analysis shows that: resilience is positively correlated with self-management behavior(r=0.802,P < 0.05),and positively correlated with mindfulness(r=0.856,P < 0.05).The mindfulness is positively correlated with self-management behavior(r=0.861,P<0.05));3.The mediation effect test shows that mindfulness plays a part of the mediation effect between resilience and self-management behavior, and the mediation effect is 0.58,accounting for 69.89% of the total effect;4.After the intervention, mindfulness level,resilience,self-compassion and the self-management scores of the intervention group were significantly higher than those before the intervention(P<0.05),and were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).After the intervention, the Hb A1 cof the intervention group was significantly higher than that before the intervention(P<0.05),and was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion 1.The self-management behavior, mindfulness level, and resilience of type 2 diabetic patients in China are all below the medium level, which is not optimistic. It is extremely urgent to maintain the mental health of patients and improve their self-management level.2.The level of mindfulness, resilience, and self-management behavior of patients with type 2 diabetes are correlated and positively correlated.Mindfulness plays a part of the mediating role between resilience and self-management behavior.Medical staff should consider the impact of mindfulness level and resilience on the patient’s self-management ability.3.The Self-help mindfulness intervention can significantly improve the self-management behavior of patients with type 2 diabetes, and also have a positive effect on blood sugar control. It can also improve the patient’s mindfulness level, resilience, and self-compassion,thereby reducing the patient’s negative emotions and maintaining the patient’s physical and mental health. The self-help mindfulness intervention can improve the mindfulness level, mental flexibility, and self-compassion of patients with type 2 diabetes, thereby reducing negative emotions and achieving the purpose of maintaining mental health. In addition, the self-help mindfulness intervention can also significantly improve the self-management behavior of patients with type 2 diabetes, and has positive significance for blood glucose control.
