Schizophrenia ranks first in the total burden of disease in China with high recurrence rate and disability rate.Because of their widespread social cognitive impairments and social functional deficits,it is necessary to explore how to improve the social adaptability of patients with schizophrenia.Schizophrenia patients have defects in emotional perception ability, which is related to the decline of their social function. The known facial emotion processing disorders have been the focus of academic research. However,it has not been determined whether people with schizophrenia can process the visual and auditory information of the scene that evokes facial expressions.Improving their ability to process information from the scene will help improve their performance in social interaction.Research objective:(1)Aiming at the situational effect of face emotion recognition, this paper explores whether schizophrenics can integrate single modal and crossaudiovisual modal scene information in face emotion recognition, and the influence of music on this process.(2)To explore the psychiatric symptoms, alexithymia and social anxiety of patients with schizophrenia, and analyze the correlation between the severity of psychiatric symptoms and facial recognition disorders.Research methods:The study recruited 32 patients with schizophrenia and 32 healthy subjects. The two groups of subjects were matched in gender, age, and educational background. The Positive and Negative Symptom Scale(PANSS),Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS-26)and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale(LSAS)were used to evaluate the degree of mental symptoms in patients with schizophrenia, alexithymia and social anxiety in all subjects. The experimental research adopts the emotional priming paradigm. The pictures for face emotion recognition were obtained from the Chinese Facial Affective Picture System(CFAPS),the pictures of emotional scenes were obtained from the Chinese Affective Picture System(CAPS),and the emotional music materials were from the musical chords used in the study of Koelsch and Steinbeis’ s.Result:The independent sample t-test results of the two groups showed no significant differences in gender, age and educational background. The total score of the PANSS scale of the patient group ranged from 33 to 93 points, with an average score of 61.63±13.779 points;the range of positive symptoms scores was 8~29points,the average subscale score is 15.84±4.820 points;the negative symptoms score range is 7~26 points, the average subscale score is 12.34±6.292 points;the general psychiatric symptoms score range is 18~48 points, and the average subscale score is 33.44±7.729 points; The composite scale score(positive symptoms scale score-negative symptoms scale score)ranged from-12 to 22 points, with an average score of 3.50±7.858 points. In the assessment of TAS-26 scale, the total score of alexithymia(p<0.001)and factor IV(Extroverted thinking,p<0.001)are significantly different between the two groups, indicating that patients with schizophrenia pay more attention to external affairs minor details and less attention to the emotions and feelings of oneself and others;the total score of social anxiety(p<0.05)and fear score(p<0.01)in the LSAS scale are significantly different between the two groups. The experiment is divided into three parts to explore whether the facial emotion recognition of patients with schizophrenia has a situational effect. Both are 2(Group: Patient group,Control group)× 2(Consistency of emotional valence between initiating stimulus and target stimulus: Consistent,Inconsistent)experimental design.Experiment 1 and Experiment 2 investigated whether the ability of schizophrenic patients to recognize emotions in faces and music chords is defective under the single-modal activation of vision or hearing. In experiment 1,the main effect of the upper group was significant in accuracy and reaction time. The facial emotion recognition performance of the patient group was worse than that of the control group. The main effect of the initial stimulus and target stimulus emotional valence consistency was not significant, and the group and emotion consistency were not significant. There is no interaction effect between them.In experiment 2,the main effect of group is significant in the accuracy rate, the main effect of emotional consistency is not significant, and there is no interaction effect between group and emotional consistency;the main effect of group and emotional consistency are not significant in reaction time. There is no interaction effect between group and emotional consistency.Experiment 3 examines its ability to distinguish and integrate background information across audiovisual modals, and the influence of music chord priming on this process. In terms of response time and accuracy, the main effects of group and emotional consistency are significant, and there is no interaction between group and emotional consistency.effect.The independent sample t-test results showed that the discrimination index d’of the control group in all three experiments was significantly higher than that of the patient group.Conclusions:(1)There is a certain degree of alexithymia and social anxiety disorder in the group of patients with schizophrenia.(2)Patients with schizophrenia have defects in facial emotion recognition, emotion recognition in music and chords, and integration of situational information across audiovisual modals.(3)Musical chord stimulation produced emotion priming effects in crossaudiovisual modal emotion recognition in patients with schizophrenia and healthy subjects, that is,music stimulation can induce the situational effect of facial emotion recognition;emotional scene information in the face recognition of the two groups of subjects In both cases, situational effects appear. |
