With the development of society and the trend of aging population, the pressure of life is gradually increasing, many people will be under long-term mental stress, which may cause anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses. This type of mental illness will cause many adverse effects on daily life and physical health.Depression is also one of the reasons for suicidal behavior. Now depression has become a common disease.Different age groups face different pressures.Anyone knows that college is a completely different stage after high school life.During this period, many students are facing various physical and psychological problems such as unsuitable life, academic unsuitability and environmental unsuitability. In addition, the college level is the only way for most people to go from student days to society. If physical problems, such as depression, anxiety, social phobia and other disease tendencies, are not detected and intervened in time, these tendencies will eventually evolve into mental health diseases.Surveys have shown that there are many potential depressive tendencies among college students. They have not been medically diagnosed as depression, but they have appeared similar to depression, such as negative emotions lasting for a long time, loss of interest in things, and loss of concentration, etc. If you ignore it and allow it to develop freely,it may develop into depression. The author is on a university campus and knows that it is necessary and should be taken seriously to pay attention to the group of depressive college students. From vinyl records, tapes, portable MP3 s to high-quality online songs that you can listen to with your fingers, music has always influenced every aspect of public life with its unique aesthetic characteristics. Background music is everywhere in daily life and has an irreplaceable role.Musical emotions include the emotions that the composer wants to express and the emotions of the performer provide when playing. The listener is the receiver of music. There are two mechanisms of the way the listener perceives music, namely, the perceptual mechanism and emotional experience mechanism. The former believes that listeners can always recognize the emotions of music through music components(such as mode, harmony, speed, rhythm, etc.),and the commonality of different listeners to music emotion recognition comes from the sound morphological characteristics of music,The latter mechanism believes that the core purpose of listeners is to experience. That is to say, listeners listen to music is to feel the mood of the music, improve their mood. This research focuses on the relationship between depressive individuals and musical emotions.According to the BRECVEM model, music can induce emotion in seven ways.According to theories of brainstem reflex, emotional infection, rhythm arousal, and the emotional experience mechanism of music,we can know that different musical emotions can induce different subjects Emotional experience, according to Beck’s negative cognitive schema, people with depression are more inclined to process negative emotions. As a result, experiment one was designed: the emotion induction experiment, which explored whether five different musical emotions can induce the same emotions in the depression tendency group as the normal participants, and whether there is a difference in the degree of this emotion induction between the two groups. The experimental hypothesis is that all negative emotions may have a difference in the degree of emotion induction between the two groups of subjects, and there is no difference in the degree of emotion induction between the two groups of pleasant emotions. This experiment uses Ekman’s classification of emotions, and divides music emotions into five specific categories: sadness, fear, anger, disgust, and pleasure, and finds the corresponding category of songs in the Southwest University’s self-made music library, two songs for each emotion, normal participants in the depression group and the depression group made subjective judgments based on their subjective feelings on the intensity of the emotions expressed by the music and the degree of influence on their emotions after listening to the music clips. The results of Experiment 1 proved that different musical emotions can induce the same emotions in the depressive subjects and the normal subjects, and there is no significant difference in the intensity and degree of influence between the two groups. The ability of the depressive subjects to experience different musical emotions It is no different from ordinary people, which is not completely consistent with theoretical assumptions.According to the theoretical basis and experimental hypothesis of Experiment 1,people with depressive tendencies may have cognitive biases towards sad music emotions, which should also be manifested in the attention bias.According to the attention resource allocation theory, the individual’s attention resources are limited. If there are more tasks at the same time, the individual will tend to allocate attention resources to the tasks that they think are the most important. If the attention resources have been allocated and new tasks are generated, the individual will not be able to process information on them.Studies have shown that background music promotes or inhibits foreground tasks, and people with depression tend to have an attention bias toward sad emotions.Does the background music affect the distribution of attention resources of people with depression.Previous studies have shown that background music has an effect on the attention of normal people and depressive people. This effect may be a positive promotion or a negative inhibition. Will the background music of sadness be different between the two groups? Therefore, the second experiment is designed: Does sad music affect the distribution of attention resources of depressive persons. The experimental hypothesis is: Compared with normal subjects, sad mood background music occupies more attention resources of depressive persons. The experiment adopts the point detection paradigm to conduct research. The two groups of subjects performed the pre-sight spot detection task while listening to the sad background music. After the experiment, the two groups of subjects were compared with the correct rate and reaction time of the location of the detection point in the point detection task. The results show that the response time and accuracy rate of the depressed people when there is a detection stimulus are lower than the normal group, and the difference is significant, which indicates that compared with the normal control group, when the point detection stimulus appears, the sad background music distracts the depressive people more attention, making it impossible to concentrate on the point detection task. The subjects of the two experiments are depressive tendency college students. The final results show that the depressive college students’ perception and experience of music are no different from ordinary people, but they pay more attention to sad emotional music.
