ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy of "Probiotics No.1" in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).MethodsThree hundred patients with IBS from the first affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were randomly divided into test group and control group,respectively orally take "Probiotics No.1" and placebo for 2weeks.The IBS-SSS score and the Bristol classification of the patients in each group were evaluated at 0,1,2 weeks of medication and 1 week of drug withdrawal.The IBS-QOL score of each group was evaluated for 2weeks,and the occurrence of adverse reactions during the medication was recorded.ResultsA total of 264 patients completed the experiment,including the test group(n = 134)and control group(n = 130).1.IBS-SSS The scores in both groups decreased significantly after either 1 or 2 weeks of treatment,and the changes was more significant in the test group.The IBS-D subgroup showed similar results,while the scores of IBS-C patients decreased only after 2 weeks of probiotic treatment.The overall response rate in the test group was significantly higher than that in the control group.One week after withdrawal,the control group was observed recovered,with no significant changes in the test group.2.Bristol stool scale In the IBS-D subgroup,the score in both groups decreased significantly after 1or 2 weeks of treatment,and more significant change was presented in the test group.One week after withdrawal,the score in the control group was significantly higher than that after two weeks of treatment.Patients in IBS-C subgroup showed no difference neither before or after treatment.3.IBS-QOL After 2 weeks of treatment,the scores in both groups were much lower,especially in the test group.Similar results were found in IBS-D subgroup.ConclusionCompared with placebo group,taking "probiotics No.1" for 2 weeks can improve the overall symptoms,stool characteristics and quality of life of IBS patients,especially in the IBS-D patients.It is worthy of clinical promotion. |
