Objective:Explore the brain activation area induced by acupuncture at Shenmen Neiguan group points by using blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging(BOLD fMRI),study the different distribution characteristics of brain activation caused by acupuncture group points compared with single point,and to explore the correlation between acupuncture points and their main clinical therapeutic effects.The changes of Amplitude of Low Frequency Fluxtuation(ALFF)in the resting state before acupuncture and after needle extraction were compared too.To study the effect of acupoint persistence effect on central nervous system in acupuncture group.Method:According to the inclusion criteria,18 right handed healthy volunteers in Heilongjiang University of traditional Chinese medicine were selected as subjects.Philips 3.0T dual source dual gradient MRI scanner was used to collect the brain activation signal data of right Shenmen Neiguan group points needling state with the resting state fMRI data before and after acupuncture;The data of Neiguan single point needling state have been obtained by our team in the early stage of the experiment.Using dparsfa and xjview based on MATLAB 2017 A software processed the image data and statistically analyzed the image data by spm12.Finally the Alff value before and after acupuncture.with the location,voxel value and activation degree of the activated brain regions about needling Shenmen Neiguan group points and difference of brain area between group acupoints compared with single acupoint were analyzed.Results:1.Positive activation of brain regions induced by acupuncture in Shenmen-Neigguan group included: right inferior temporal gyrus(BA21),right angular gyrus(BA39),left precuneus(BA7),left fusiform gyrus(BA36),right middle temporal gyrus(BA21),and left middle temporal gyrus(BA21),(P≤ 0.01).2.Acupuncture at Shenmen-Neiguan group caused negative activation of brain regions including the right insula(BA13)and Inferior frontal gyrus of left operculum(BA45),(P≤ 0.01).3.In the difference between acupuncture at Shenmen-Neiguan group and Neiguan point,the positive activation brain regions were right fusiform gyrus(BA19),left medial superior frontal gyrus,and right cerebellar area 6,(P ≤0.01).4.In the difference of acupuncture activation between Shenmen-Nei guan group and Neiguan point,the negative activation brain regions we re left fusiform gyrus(BA38),left inferior temporal gyrus(BA21),and right dorsalateral superior frontal gyrus,(P≤ 0.01).5.Compared with the resting state before acupuncture,the ALFF values in the Shenmen-Neiguan group after acupuncture were increased in the right superior temporal gyrus(BA41)and left posterior central gyrus(BA2),(P ≤0.01).6.Compared with the resting state before acupuncture,the ALFF value of the Shenmen-Neigguan group decreased in the following brain regions after acupuncture task state: left middle frontal gyrus(BA46),left rectus gyrus,right dorsalateral superior frontal gyrus(BA9),right superior superior gyrus(BA7),and left imaginary motor area,(P≤ 0.01).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture at Shenmen Neiguan group caused the activation of multiple brain regions,mainly in the default network(temporal lobe,angular gyrus,precuneus lobe),and macroscopically manifested as the activation of high-level cognitive functions(emotion regulation,memory,language understanding,etc).2.Compared with single point,Shenmen-Neiguan group had specific activation in fusiform gyrus(BA37),inferior temporal gyrus(BA22)and other brain areas under acupuncture.The above brain areas were mainly related to cognitive function and emotion regulation function,suggesting that the clinical treatment of cognitive and mental diseases group was better than single point,which may be related to activation of its specific brain areas.3.Compared with the resting state before acupuncture,the Alff value of Shenmen Neiguan group increased or decreased in several brain regions after needle withdrawal,there is a correlation between the brain area with Alff value change and its acupoint function,through adjusting the emotion of mind and spirit,achieved the effect of calming heart and nerves,Tongluo and relieve pain,It plays a unique role in the treatment of related main diseases.It also suggests that the effect of acupuncture persistence after pulling out the needle still exists.
