Research Progress Of Circulating Tumor DNA Detection In The Treatment Of Advanced Breast Cancer

Nowadays,tumor marker,imaging examination and tumor histopathology are mainly used to evaluate the curative effect of advanced breast cancer.However,tumor marker and imaging examination have some limitations including low sensitivity and failure to monitor tumor gene mutations.Meanwhile,invasive histopathology examination could not be repeated frequently.Circulating tumor DNA is a kind of cell free DNA fragment released into blood vessels after apoptosis or necrosis of tumor cells and circulating tumor cells.Current studies suggest that circulating tumor DNA detection which has advantages including noninvasive,real-time,high sensitivity and specificity could be used for gene mutation detection,efficacy monitoring and prognosis evaluation of advanced breast cancer.This article will review the clinical research progress of circulating tumor DNA detection in the treatment of advanced breast cancer.
