Objective:To investigate preoperative artificial tears on the stability of tear film and visual quality of cataract patients with mild dry eyes. Methods:Between June 2019 to July 2020,patients were diagnosed cataract with mild dry before phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in our hospital. The patients were randomly divided into two groups:31 patients(31 eyes)in the experimental group and 32 patients(32 eyes)in the control group. The experimental group was treated with 0.1%sodium hyaluronate eye drops 4 times a day at lwk preoperative, the rest of the drugs were consistent between the two groups.Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)questionnaire,Schirmer I test,Tear Break Up Time(TBUT)and tear meniscus height were measured by ocular surface comprehensive analyzer,Objective Scattering Index(OSI),Modulation Transfer Function Cut Off frequency(MTF cutoff),Strehl ratio(SR),and Tear Film-Objective Scatter Index(TF-OSI)were performed befor operation, lwk,Imo and 3mo after operation.Result:Comparison between the two groups,at lwk postoperative, the TBUT of experimental group(3.16± 1.37)was significantly higher than that of the control group(2.19±0.75)(P<0.05);At lwk postoperative, the OSDI questionnaire of experimental group(10.83±3.13)was lower than the control group(13.46±5.12)(P<0.05);At lwk postoperative, the TF-OSI of experimental group(1.76 ±0.39)was lower than the control group(2.21±0.52),and 1mo postoperative, the experimental group(1.49 ±0.39)was lower than the control group(1.74 ±0.43)(all P<0.05);At lwk postoperative, the OSI of experimental group(1.29±0.55)was lower than the control group(1.52±0.63)(P<0.05);At lwk postoperative, the MTF cutoff of experimental group(31.30±8.67)was higher than that in the control group(26.45±7.69)(P<0.05);there was no significant in TBUT,OSDI questionnaire,TF-OSI and MTF cutoff between the two groups at other time points(all P>0.05).There was no significant in tear meniscus height and Schirmer I test between the two groups at 1wk,1mo and 3mo(all P>0.05).Comparison of postoperative and preoperative between the two groups.Postoperative TBUT,OSDI questionnaire,TF-OSI,OSI were significantly lower than those before the operation in both two groups, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05);Postoperative MTF cutoff,SR were significantly higher than those before the operation in both two groups, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05);Postoperative SR were significantly higher than those before the operation in both two groups(P<0.05);Postoperative tear meniscus height were no significant than those before the operation in both two groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion:Preoperative application with artificial tears can improve the early postoperative dry eye symptoms and improve the stability of tear film and visual quality of cataract patients with dry eye.The stability of tear film in cataract patients was lower than that before operation, and the dry eye was more serious after operation.Dynamic analysis of tear film by OQAS can be used as an essential tool to evaluate dry eyes.
