Objective:To explore the effects of body mass index(BMI),blood lipids, and blood glucose on cognition among adult males. Methods:The subjects of the study were employees of Tangshan Kailuan Mining Group.1.Self-made questionnaire to collect social demographic data.Measure height, weight, and calculate body mass index(BMI);collect fasting blood to test fasting blood glucose(FBG),total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),low-density lipoprotein(LDL)and high-density lipoprotein(HDL);Wisconsin Card Sorting Test(WCST)test executive function.Brief Visuospatial Memory.Test-Revised (BVMT-R)test memory function,Hopkins Verbal Learning Test Revised(HVLT-R)tests the ability to learn and immediate recall word information and maintain the ability.2.Groups are based on body mass index, blood lipids, and blood sugar, and compare differences in cognitive function.Results:1.Comparing the four groups, there was no statistical difference 2.Regardless of grouping according to blood lipids, there was no difference in cognitive function between the groups.3.It was found that compared with individuals with normal fasting blood glucose,in impaired fasting glucose group, the BVMT-R1 test(Z=-2.16,P=0.031),BVMT-R2 test(Z=-3.359,P=0.001),and BVMT-R3 test(Z=-3.307,P=0.001),BVMT-total score(Z=-2.967,P=0.003),completed classification number Cc(Z=-2.078,P=0.038),correct response percentage Rc%(Z=-2.767,P=0.006),the number of wrong responses Re(Z=-2.59,P=0.01),the percentage of conceptualization level Rf%(Z=-2.859,P=0.004),the number of persistent responses Rp(Z=-3.024,P=0.002),the number of persistent errors Rpe(Z=-2.94,P=0.003),and the percentage of persistent errors Rpe%(Z=-2.923,P=0.003)are poor, and the difference is statistically significant; After doing Spearman correlation analysis of blood glucose and cognitive indicators,it is found that blood glucose level is related to BVMT-R1(R=-0.088,P=0.042),BVMT-R2(R=-0.144,P=0.001),BVMT-R3(R=-0.139,P=0.001),BVMT-total score(R=-0.129,P=0.003),Rc%(R=-0.114,P=0.008),Rf%(R=-0.115,P=0.007)are negatively correlated, and have a negative correlation with Re(R=0.104,P=0.015),Rp(R=0.125,P=0.004),Rpe(R=0.12,P=0.005),Rpe%(R=0.119,P=0.006)are positively correlated.Introducing linearly related factors into the multiple linear regression equation,it is concluded that blood glucose is a risk factor for cognition BVMT-R1(R~2=0.048,P=0),BVMT-R2(R2=0.032,P=0.002),BVMT-R3(R~2=0.023,P=0.006),BVMT-RT(R~2=0.033,P=0.001),the rest have no effect on cognition.Conclusions:1.Among adult men, body mass index and blood lipids have no significant impact on cognition.3.Individuals with impaired fasting blood glucose have decreased visual spatial function and executive function.Blood glucose is a risk factor for cognition.
