Objective:By observing the difference of the effect between in the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian and in the group treated with acupoints on Heart Meridian in the treatment of cervical spondylosis of cervical type,we aim to determine the efficacy and safety of acupuncture at acupoints along the Lung Meridian and verify that it counters cervical spondylosis of cervical type.Method:With a randomized controlled study,48 patients with cervical spondylosis of cervical type who were eligible for inclusion standard were randomly divided into the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian and either the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian or that of the Heart Meridian.Patients in the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian received tender point electroacupuncture at LU7(Lieque)or LU5(Chize),LU7(Lieque)or LU5(Chize)without electroacupuncture by manual needling.Patients in the group treated with acupoints on Heart Meridian received corresponding treatment at HT4(Lingdao)or HT3(Shaohai),HT4(Lingdao)or HT3(Shaohai)without electroacupuncture by manual needling. The therapy was performed every other day for 6times,and each time the needle was left for 30 min.The VAS score,ROM of cervical spine,NDI,SAS,SDS and SF-36 score were evaluated before, after treatment, the first follow-up during 4th week and the second follow-up during the 12 th week after treatment.Clinical data were gathered by the case report form(CRF),and recorded into Riehen Clinical Trial Management System.Statistical analysis was performed on comparing the clinical efficacy, safety, clinical compliance between the two groups by SPSS 21.0.Result:1.Baseline data and outcomes were not statistically significant, and the data were comparable.2.After treatment, the VAS scores, left rotation, left extension,NDI,SAS,SF-36 score of the two groups were significantly improved than those before treatment, and the differences between the two groups were significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the efficacy of extension was improved significantly(P<0.01)in the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian.3.The first follow-up during the 4th week after treatment, the VAS score, left extension,NDI,SAS and SF-36 score of the two groups were significantly improved than those before treatment, and the differences between the two groups were significant(P<0.05).The first follow-up during the 4th week after treatment, extension, back extension, left rotation and right extension were improved significantly(P<0.05)in the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian.4.The second follow-up during the twelfth week after treatment, outcomes of the two groups were significantly improved than those before treatment, and the differences between the two groups were not significant(P>0.05).5.During treatment and follow-up,the clinical compliance and safety of the two groups were fine.At follow-up,the clinical compliance of the two groups was fine.Conclusion:1.After treatment,in the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian could significantly improve neck pain, the ROM of the cervical spine(extension, left rotation and left extension),NDI,anxiety and living quality. And the clinical effect was safe and reliable.2.In short-term and long-term effect, there was no recurrence in either group. And in short-term,outcomes were significantly improved than those before treatment in the group treated with acupoints on Lung Meridian.
