Objective: With the development and progress of medical technology, there is a growing need for quality health care which makes nurses work under great pressure.Serious occupational stress leads to lower and lower life satisfaction. This study will explore the current situation of nurses’ life satisfaction, and further analyze the influencing factors and interaction rules of nurses’ life satisfaction.According to the results of the study, the intervention strategies for hospital managers to improve life satisfaction level are proposed. Methods: In this study, five cities in Liaoning Province were randomly selected by multistage stratified random sampling. Each city randomly selected 2 tertiary hospitals, each hospital randomly selected 60 nurses,a total of about 600 medical and nursing staff to carry out self-administered questionnaire survey. The questionnaire includes general situation questionnaire, life satisfaction scale(SWLS),Effort-reward imbalance questionnaire(ERI)and simple coping style scale(SCSQ)to evaluate the demographic characteristics and work factors, life satisfaction, occupational stress and coping style of nurses.Finally,482 valid questionnaires were collected, and the effective recovery rate was 80.3%.Single factor analysis of variance and t-test were used to compare the differences of life satisfaction of nurses with different demographic characteristics and work factors;Spearman correlation analysis was used to clarify the relationship between life satisfaction of nurses and its influencing factors;hierarchical regression analysis was used to determine the influencing factors of life satisfaction and its effect intensity, and the effect of coping style on occupational stress and life satisfaction was preliminarily tested Finally, simple slope was used to test the moderating effect of visual coping style. Results: The average score of life satisfaction of nurses was 22.74 ± 6.11.Age,marital status, life stress events, night shift and weekly working hours were the influencing factors of nurses’ life satisfaction.Occupational stress and coping style are the important influencing factors of nurses’ life satisfaction.Active coping style played a positive moderating role between effort-reward ratio and life satisfaction. Conclusion: Life satisfaction score was improved among nurses, but was lower than other professions.Among nurses, occupational stress is an important factor affecting life satisfaction.Coping style,as a positive psychological resource, may be the key factor to improve the level of life satisfaction of nurses. In particular, active coping has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between the effort-reward ratio and life satisfaction. This suggests that, firstly, organizational managers should improve the salary level of nurses and standardize the nursing service delivery process to reduce the occupational stress of nurses.Secondly, strengthen publicity and education, establish a positive image to alleviate the contradiction between nurses and patients, and guide nurses to actively face the work; Finally, carry out health education, improve nurses’ positive response level, build a better practice environment for nurses, improve their life satisfaction level, and achieve the common improvement of medical service quality and efficiency.
