Influence Of Family Acoustic Stimulation On Delirium In ICU Patients With Mechanical Ventilation

Objective: To explore the effect of family acoustic stimulation on reducing the incidence of delirium in ICU.To explore the effect of family acoustic stimulation on reducing the duration of delirium in ICU patients.Methods: Patients admitted to the first ICU of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from October 2019 to January 2021 were selected.The patients meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into experimental group and control group by computer,and their demographic data and clinical characteristics were analyzed.The control group received routine treatment and care for patients in the ICU.The control group received additional family voice stimulation therapy within 24 hours of admission in addition to the same treatment as the control group.The recording was played from 9am to 10 am and 2pm to 3pm every day,with a volume of 30 db.After listening to the recording for 30 minutes or at the request of the patient,the recording was stopped.At 8:00 a.m.and16:00 p.m.every day,the team leader on duty used CAM-ICU to evaluate the delirium of the two groups of patients.If the patient’s state of consciousness changed,the team leader on duty evaluated the delirium in a timely manner.Results: A total of 81 people were recruited during the experiment,including 41 in the experimental group and 40 in the control group.There was no statistically significant difference in the basic data and clinical characteristics between the two groups(P >0.05).The incidence of delirium experimental group is 24.39%,the incidence of delirium in the control group is 60%,Chi-square test was performed on the two sets of data,p = 0.001< 0.05,the differences were statistically significant in both groups。The average duration of delirium in the experimental group was 1.8±0.92 days,while that in the control group was 3.88±3.79 days.Data in the two groups did not conform to normal distribution.For T ’test,P =0.025<0.05,there is a significant statistical difference between the two groups.of delirium.Conclusion: Family acoustic stimulation therapy can reduce the incidence of delirium in ICU and reduce the average duration of delirium in ICU.
