Aim1.Introduced and localized ICU hospice care barrier and supportive behaviors questionnaire.2.To clarify the prominent barrier and supportive behaviors in the implementation of hospice care by ICU nurses.Methods1.The barriers and supportive behaviors questionnaire of Beckstrand’s team of the Brigham Young University was cross-culturally adjusted, and the questionnaire was used to investigate the influencing factors of the development of hospice care in ICU.2.In order to fully explore the cognition of ICU nurses on the influencing factors of hospice care,semi-structured interview was adopted to interview them in a third class A hospital in Wuhan.Results1.In the Chinese version of ICU hospice care influencing factors questionnaire, there were 26 items of barriers and 23 items of facilitators.Cronbach’s α of internal consistency was 0.937 and 0.945,respectively.The retest reliability was 0.803 and0.816,respectively.The half reliability was 0.899 and 0.860,respectively.The content validity indexes were 0.915 and 0.963,respectively.Three common factors of barriers were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, with the cumulative contribution rate of62.751%.And three common factors of facilitators questionnaire, with the cumulative contribution rate of 61.246%.2.In the questionnaire survey part, five of the top six barriers related to family members and the other was the nurse’s lack of time.Supportive behaviors included three related to family members and three related to healthcare providers.3.In the in-depth interviews part, the factors influencing the implementation of hospice care mainly focus on three aspects: organizational environment related factors,families-related factors, and professional caregivers related factors.ConclusionsThis study systematically explored the influencing factors of hospice care in ICU,and the main influencing factors included family factors, team cooperation, and insufficient nursing time, etc. There is a need to educate the public about death, popularize knowledge of palliative care, and strengthen communication and cooperation between health workers and families. It is suggested that effective measures should be found to promote the development of hospice care in the future and promote the development of palliative care in ICU.
