| Self-reference effect refers to when information is related to self-concept,individuals can encode and process quickly and have better memory.Although many studies on self-referencing have investigated healthy people and some people with mental disorders,we know very little about the effect of self-referencing in people with hearing impairment. In addition, evidence from neuroimaging shows that whether in the study of cerebral cortex plasticity or the default network, there are differences in the brain function, structure and default network of individuals with hearing impairment, which will inevitably affect individuals with hearing impairment. The self-referential processing is different. In addition, most of the previous self-studies on individuals with hearing impairment have used questionnaires, interviews or behavioral measurements to investigate certain aspects of themselves. For example, studies on self-cognition have found that hearing-impaired individuals have low self-awareness,low self-evaluation and low self-esteem,There are also some researches on self-esteem and self-emotion regulation of hearing-impaired individuals. However, these studies did not reveal the neural mechanism behind it.As of the current research, there is still no neurophysiological research on the self-referential processing of hearing-impaired individuals. Therefore,in this study,we intend to adopt the classic self-reference paradigm. The task of the subjects is to determine whether the personality trait words appearing are suitable for describing themselves(or friends),and to record relevant EEG signals, combined with conventional ERP analysis and time-frequency analysis the technology examines the characteristics of self-referential processing of hearing-impaired individuals. It hopes to reveal the inner neural mechanism of self-referential processing of hearing-impaired individuals, and provide a theoretical basis for further understanding of self-processing of hearing-impaired individuals and for the education of hearing-impaired people. Our research draws the following conclusions:First, the P2,N2,and P3 amplitudes induced by the self-reference processing coding stage of the hearing-impaired individuals are lower than the normal control.Compared with normal people, the hearing-impaired individuals induce smaller P3 amplitudes during the self-reference process.Second,in the θ and γ rhythms,we found the self-referencing effect of normal individuals, that is,compared with the friend reference, the self-referencing signal causes a larger γ-band event-related desynchronization(ERD)and a smaller θ-band Event-related synchronization(ERS).There was no difference between theta and gamma nerve concussions in the hearing-impaired group under self-reference and friend reference.Third, the self-referential processing ability of hearing-impaired individuals is impaired, which is mainly reflected in the P3 amplitude,θrhythm and γ.It can be seen that P3,θ rhythm and γ rhythm can be used as an objective physiological index for cognitive evaluation of hearing-impaired individuals. |
