| Nowadays,more and more office ladies play a critical role in workplace.At the same time,women are facing rising heavy burdens come from their families as grew older,especially for married women who always play a variety of roles in society.The work-family imbalance occurs when individuals cannot meet the demands of both work and family.Compared with other office ladies,the situation is more common among female nurses who have married and work in the affiliated hospitals of universities.There are so many reasons,such as heavy workload,high working pressure and higher demands for better development of professional career for these nursing talents,who are equipped with excellent comprehensive quality and professional standards compared with nurses working in the common medical institutions.All of these result in outstanding problems on the work-family balance.However,relevant studies,which focused on the work-family balance of married female nurses in the affiliated hospitals of universities,have not been retrieved yet.Therefore,it’s necessary to understand current situation and influencing factors of the work-family balance of married female nurses in the affiliated hospitals of universities,in order to pointedly provide basis for developing management strategies.This is a cross-sectional study,through convenient sampling,601 married female nurses came from three affiliated hospitals of universities in Chengdu,China,were included.The questionnaires were filled through a platform of questionnaire management named Wenjuanxing.After data analysis,the following conclusions were drawn.Firstly,for married female nurses in the affiliated hospitals of universities,all of the degree of work-to-family conflict,family-to-work facilitation and work-to-family facilitation were high,and the degree of family-to-work conflict was low,the degree of family-to-work facilitation was the highest and the degree of family-to-work conflict was the lowest.There were significant difference in a variety of variables of workfamily balance for some characteristics of demographic,work,and family.Secondly,working pressure was at the lower level of moderate,both professional identity and perceived organizational support were above average level.Besides,correlation analysis attached as supplementary content show that working pressure were positively correlated with work-to-family conflict and family-to-work conflict,and negatively correlated with work-to-family facilitation and family-to-work facilitation.Professional identity and perceived organizational support were negatively correlated with work-tofamily conflict and family-to-work conflict,and were positively correlated with familyto-work facilitation and work-to-family facilitation.And working pressure had positive influence on work-to-family conflict and family-to-work conflict.Professional identity had a negative influence on work-to-family conflict and family-to-work conflict,on the contrary,positive effects of professional identity on family-to-work facilitation and work-to-family facilitation were observed.Moreover,perceived organizational support also had a positive influence on work-to-family facilitation.And finally,strategies and suggestions for married female nurses in affiliated hospitals of universities on how to maintain the balance between work and family are pointed out. |
