| Objective To observe the effect of Lycium barbarum glycopeptide tablets(LBGTs)on visual function in primary open glaucoma(POAG).Methods Fifty-four patients with POAG who met the criteria were included and randomly divided into BCG(control)group and LBGTs(test)group.During the trial, all patients received basic treatment of local ocular hypotensive therapy,BCG group was given basic treatment of local ocular hypotensive therapy, and LBGTs group was given Lycium barbarum glycopeptide tablets at the same time of basic treatment, with a treatment cycle of 3 months.Best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure(IOP),visual field(VF),and pattern visual evoked potential(P-VEP)were examined before and after treatment. Results 1.Best corrected visual acuity: There was no significant difference before and after treatment in the BCG group(P = 0.164 > 0.05).The LBGTs group was better after treatment than before treatment(P = 0.001< 0.05).After treatment, the LBGTs group was superior to the BCG group(P < 0.05).2.mean visual field defect(MD): There was no significant difference before and after treatment in the BCG group(P = 0.053 > 0.05).The LBGTs group was better after treatment than before treatment(P< 0.001).After treatment, the LBGTs group was superior to the BCG group(P < 0.05).3.Pattern visual evoked potential: At 1 °,there was no significant difference in P100 wave latency before and after treatment in the BCG group(P = 0.263 > 0.05),and the amplitude after treatment was better than that before treatment(P < 0.001);the P100 wave latency and amplitude after treatment in the LBGTs group were better than those before treatment(P < 0.05);after treatment, the LBGTs group was better than the BCG group(P < 0.05).At 15 ′,there was no significant difference in P100 wave latency or amplitude before and after treatment between the two groups(P > 0.05).4.ocular symptoms: There were significant differences in each ocular symptom before and after treatment between the BCG and LBGTs groups(P < 0.05).After treatment, the improvement of blurred vision and eye swelling and eye pain in the LBGTs group was better than that in the BCG group(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference in the other ocular symptoms(P > 0.05).5.Efficacy: After treatment, the treatment response rate was 61.9% in the BCG group and 81.8% in the LBGTs group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P = 0.032 < 0.05).Conclusion 1.Both the use of basic ocular hypotensive drugs alone and in combination with LBGTs can effectively control the progression of POAG patients and improve the ocular symptoms of patients, and the efficacy of combined LBGTs is better, which is worthy of further exploration and promotion.2.Under the condition of IOP control with basic ocular hypotensive drops, the combined use of LBGTs can improve BCVA,VF and P-VEP in patients with POAG to varying degrees, and VF and P-VEP in patients are improved, indicating that VF and P-VEP examination can also be used to evaluate the therapeutic effect in patients with POAG.3.Under the condition of IOP control with basal ocular hypotensive drops, the combined use of LBGTs can improve the ocular symptoms of POAG patients to varying degrees and improve the quality of life of POAG patients. |
