Objective:To compare the subjective and objective visual quality of rotationally asymmetric MIOL MF15 and MF30,and to provide theoretical evidence for personalized selection of MIOL for different patients and clinical promotion.Methods:It was a retrospective case control analysis.Forty eligible age-related cataract patients(40 eyes)in the second hospital of Jilin university from September2019 to August2021 were enrolled.They were divided into two groups: 20 patients(20 eyes)were in MF15 group and 20 patients(20 eyes)were in MF30 group.Far,intermediate,and near distance vision were tested at postoperative 3 months.A defocus curve was plotted,Modulation Transfer Function(MTF),wave front aberrations at 3mm pupil were measured and patients answered a questionnaire.Data from the two groups were statistically analyzed by t test.Results:There was no significant difference in corrected and uncorrected distance vision(5 m)between the two groups at 3 months after surgery(P>0.05).Uncorrected near visual acuity(40 cm)in MF30 group was better than MF15 group(P < 0.05).Uncorrected intermediate visual acuity(80 cm)in MF30 group was better than MF15 group,(P<0.05).Defocus curve showed that MF15 group had better visual acuity in the range of +0.5 to-1.5 D,and MF15 group had good near visual acuity at-2.5 to-3.5D,which was significantly better than MF15 group.Three months after surgery,the MTF mean value of MF15 group was better than MF30 group(P<0.05).Under mesopic condition,the contrast sensitivity of the two groups at 5.0,10.0,15.0 and20.0c/d spatial frequencies was found to be significantly better in MF15 group than MF30 group(P<0.05).The total higher aberration at 3mm pupil of the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05),while the spherical aberration values of the MF15 group were lower than those of the MF30 group(P>0.05);Coma and trefoil,presenting statistically significant higher values in MF30 group(P < 0.05).In the VF-14-CN score,there was statistically significant difference between two groups.MF15 group was better than MF30 group.(P<0.05)Conclusion:Both MF15 and MF30 can provide excellent distance visual acuity,MF15 has its advantage in intermediate visual acuity,while,MF30 is better for near visual acuity.The subjective and objective visual quality of MF15 is better than MF30.Making personalized selection of MIOL for different patients.
