Objective:To compare and analyze the distant,intermediate and near visual acuity and visual quality of patients after Symfony extended range of vision intraocular lens(IOL)and ZMB00 multifocal IOL implantation.Methods:A total of 51 patients(60 eyes)who underwent phacoemulsification combined with IOL implantation in the Cataract Department of our hospital from September2019 to October 2020 were included.And 30 patients(36 eyes)in the Symfony group were implanted with Symfony extended range of vision IOL(Tecnis Symfony ZXR00),21 patients(24 eyes)in the ZMB00 group were implanted with ZMB00 multifocal IOL(Tecnis ZMB00).Observe the the distant,intermediate and near vision of the two groups of patients,and the defocus curves at 6 months after the operation.The high-order aberrations and MTF values(transfer modulation Function),the visual function index scale(VF-14)is used to assess the quality of life of patients after surgery,and the questionnaire is used to assess patient satisfaction and spectacle dependence.Results:1.Visual acuity: the distance visual acuity(5m)between the two groups was not statistically significant(P=0.737);the intermediate visual acuity(80 cm)Symfony group was better than ZMB00 group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001).The visual effect of ZMB00 group was better than that of Symfony group in near visual acuity(33cm),and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.001).2.Defocus curves: The Symfony group tends to be stable in the interval of+1.0-2.0D,which can achieve continuous visual range in this range.The continuity of intermediate vision is better than that of ZMB00 group,but it starts to show a downward trend at-2.5D;The defocus curve of ZMB00 group showed double peaks,with peaks at 0 D and-2.5D-3.5D.3.i Trace visual quality analysis: the high-order aberrations and trefoil in the Symfony group were lower than those in the ZMB00 group(all P <0.001).The postoperative MTF value of the Symfony group was 0.507±0.111,and the MTF value of the ZMB00 group was 0.546±0.137,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).4.Questionnaire analysis: The postoperative VF-14 scale score(91.83±3.85)in the Symfony group was higher than that in the ZMB00 group(86.57±6.36),and the difference was statistically significant(P = 0.001).There was no statistically significant difference in patient satisfaction and spectacle independence between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.Both Symfony extended range of vision IOL and ZMB00 multifocal IOL can achieve good visual quality after implantation,with high patient satisfaction and spectacle independence.2.Patients in both groups had better distance visual acuity.The intermediate visual acuity of Symfony extended range of vision IOL was better than that of ZMB00,and the defocus curve was smoother,while the near visual acuity of ZMB00 multifocal IOL was better.3.MTF values were higher in both groups,and the total high-order aberration and trefoil of ZMB00 multifocal IOL were greater than those of Symfony extended range of vision IOL.4.Patients should be fully communicated with before refractive cataract surgery,and IOL should be selected according to their living habits,occupation and preoperative examination.Symfony extended range of vision IOL is suitable for patients with higher requirements for medium range vision and motor vision,while ZMB00 multifocal IOL is suitable for patients with higher requirements for near vision.
