Background:Colorectal cancer is a common malignancy in the gastrointestinal tract, and it has a higher incidence rate worldwide. At present, the main treatment of the Colorectal cancer is surgical resection, most of the patients not only suffer from the pain caused by operation wound but also need chemotherapy to consolidate the therapeutic effect, the adverse reactions of operation and chemotherapy can cause multiple symptoms at the same time.A number of cancer studies have shown that, compared with a single symptom,Symptom Clusters consisted of multiple symptoms are more destructive to the body and can seriously affect the life quality of the patients. However, medical care personnel pay more attention to the patients’ single symptom and leave out the damages which are caused by synergistic effects of Symptom Clusters. Therefore,in order to it’s necessary to make a definite declaration about the relationship between the patients’ Symptom Clusters of chemotherapy and quality of life, which can provides reference to improve the life quality of patients. Objective:In order to provide nursing staff with intervention strategies and valuable reference,it’s necessary to find out the number and the types of multiple symptoms and estimate the relationship between multiple symptoms and life quality by analyzing the related symptoms to the patients with colorectal cancer during the chemotherapy period. The final objective is to decrease the burden caused by multiple symptoms. Methods:The method of sample survey is applied.Patients(from June 2021 to February 2022)during the chemotherapy are selected from some hospitals in Hubei province for investigation. The self-developed GQ,MDASI and FACT-G were selected for investigation.Epidata3.1 and SPSS22.0 software were used to organize and analyze the data. The statistical methods involved:Exploratory Factor Analysis,Multiple Regression Analysis,Spearman Correlation Analysis,etc.Result:1.The top five symptoms incidence of colorectal cancer patients:sadness, poor appetite, nausea, dry mouth, and fatigue. The top 5 most serious symptoms:sadness, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.2.4 multiple symptoms are involved in this investigation:mental-related symptom group, digestive tract-related symptom group, hypoxia related symptom group, and neuro-related symptom group.cumulative variance contribution rate:61.21%.3.According to the investigation, life quality of colorectal cancer patients during chemotherapy was 58.38 points. And the rank of each dimension of quality of life from high to low were:physiological status, social status, emotional status, and functional status.4.Patients’ marriage, economic pressure from disease, chemotherapy regimen, chemotherapy frequency and other factors had an impact on the quality of life(P<0.05).5.Monofactor analysis was conducted between the total score of the severity of each symptom group and the total score of all dimensions of life quality of colorectal cancer patients who receive postoperative chemotherapy.Except the dimension of social status, the other dimensions negatively correlated with each symptom group.(P<0.01).Conclusion:1.Colorectal cancer patients who receive postoperative chemotherapy suffer from multiple symptom, which seriously interfere with the patients’ living conditions. As for these problems above, symptoms should be timely dealt with clinically to relieve patients’ discomfort.2.The quality of life of Colorectal cancer patients who receive postoperative chemotherapy was below the average level,of which social status scores the highest and functional status scores the lowest.Patients should be guided to strengthen the postoperative rehabilitation to improve their physical function status.3.Colorectal cancer patients who receive postoperative chemotherapy have many symptom groups such as mental-related symptom groups, digestive tract-related symptom groups, hypoxia related symptom groups, and nerve-related symptom groups.Medical staff should be suggested to reduce or eliminate the harm caused by related symptom groups to the body from the perspective of symptom management.4.QOL of patients is effected by marital status, economic pressure from disease, chemotherapy regimen, and frequency of chemotherapy and other factors.Medical staff should attach more importance to these factors and take appropriate measures to improve QOL of patients.5.The more serious the patients’ symptoms are,the worse QOL is.Medical staff should actively evaluate and take effective measures for symptom management, which is of great significance to relieve the symptom burden of patients and improve the quality of life of patients.
