With the rapid development of corpus linguistics and giant corpus construction,Juku as the representative of the automated writing scoring system emerges.At present,more than 1000 universities and more than 300 middle schools nationwide are testing the use of Juku.However,research mainly focuses on the theory of Juku at present.The result of the empirical research is little and the majority of the research subject is the college student.In view of this,it is necessary to have a deep discussion about in what extent Juku can improve the senior high school student English writing ability and relieve the teachers’ pressure based on its application.Meanwhile,the thesis analyzes the main advantages,disadvantages and the direction of its improvement,thus providing inspiration and reference for senior high school English teaching.This thesis selects 110 students who have the same English teacher and come from the experimental classes from Fuzhou Pingdong middle school to participate in the experimental study.The students are divided into the experimental group and the control group.The two groups take part in the pretest before the experiment,and the result of the pretest dedicates that the students from the two groups have similar English writing ability.The thesis analyzes the data which come from the 3 writing samples within 3 months.The data are about 7 aspects.Those are the general mark,the total words,the times of submission,the mistake of English knowledge,the structure of the essay,the positive comment and the similarity.After 3 months,both the experimental group and the control group take part in the posttest which shows the students from the experimental group have higher grades than the control group.After the experiment,the thesis investigates the students of the experimental group by questionnaires and their English teacher by several questions.The majority of the experimental students hold positive views on Juku.The main results of this study are as follows:firstly,Juku helps the students improve their English knowledge and both the students and the teacher like and approve of the feedback Juku provides;secondly,for high school students,the system has a greater role in improving vocabulary,grammar,and less influence in the content,structure,the number of words;thirdly,though the feedback Juku provides on English knowledge is good,the feedback on abstract terms is little and there are some shortcomings in Juku,such as the low recognition of terminology and some feedback mistakes and errors,which need to be improved according to the need and characteristics of senior high school students;fourthly,the system helps relieve teachers’ pressure of correcting repeated low-level mistakes;fifthly,teachers need to do class or personalized guidance and feedback for the system deficiencies and students’ confusion,so that the English writing ability of students will be improved comprehensively.
