| There exists a phenomenon called syntax exclusion in language that some language units cannot co-occurrence in the same syntactic context. As an important cognitive category, quantity category can be expressed by different language forms.Syntax exclusion between these language forms is one of the hot issues of attention.Based on this,we selected the syntax exclusion between Verb Overlapping and quantitative attribute in front of the object and between quantitative complement after the predicate verb and quantitative attribute in front of the object to observe and analyze.According to this principle of“mutual verification between language form and meaning”and the decisive role of semantics,in this paper, the causes of these exclusion are assumed that semantic conflicts, indefinite object and continuous distribution of language forms of quantity category. The full text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, including subject reason, research significance, research synthesis and range of study. The second chapter mainly describes the syntax exclusion between Verb Overlapping and quantitative attribute in front of the object and between quantitative complement after the predicate verb and quantitative attribute in front of the object. The third chapter analyzes the causes of these exclusion. The fourth chapter discusses the two kinds of“counterexamples”.The last chapter is summarized from three aspects of process of argumentation, innovation and shortage. The main context of each chapter is as follows:Chapter one on the basis of comparative analysis on some typical exclusion in Chinese, selected syntax exclusion between language forms of dominant amount in predicate-object structure as the object of study.By analyzing and summarizing existing research, this paper decided to start from the perspective of semantics to seek the causes of exclusion.Chapter two introduced the quantity category firstly to have some acquaintance with expression forms of quantity category. Then based on the grammatical functions of these forms, these exclusion phenomenon obtained a preliminary classification.By adding, deleting, shifting and other grammatical means,we can deduce that there are three reasons for the exclusion:semantic conflicts, indefinite object and continuous distribution of language forms of quantity category. The classification of phenomena can be recombined as the mode of factors combination.According to the new classification of phenomena, chapter three related and analyzed the causes of exclusion from three aspects. The obtained results from analyses and calculation by extracting quantitative characteristics of syntactic components related, showed that semantic conflict is the root cause of exclusion. The indefinite expression of object is one of the factors that affect the acceptability of sentences. The continuous distribution of linguistic forms of quantity category interferes with the decoding of information. The fourth chapter based on the retrieved corpus implemented an auxiliary proof of the decisive role of semantics. The hidden verbs and the definite expression of indefinite forms can cause the syntax exclusion of linguistic forms of quantity category. The last chapter is summarized from three aspects of process of argumentation, innovation and shortage. |
