Film Script:wrong Steps Interpretation Of The Script:anxiety Of Identity,Pursuit For Love:

My film script Wrong Steps sets in Shanghai during the period from 1930s to 1960s,drawing my inspiration from those great pioneers who devoted themselves in Chinese modern and contemporary dance and finally a brilliant but unfortunate female dancer emerges in this script in order to show my respect to those pioneers.There are two plot lines in my script:one is the line of love between Sheng Wanqiao and Chen Youbang and the other is the line of affection between Sheng Wanqiao and Lvchuan Yingzi.Because of the Ballet Salome,Sheng had a crush on Chen who was thought to be the best candidate to play the role of ’John’ from Sheng’s perspective.Although Chen was good at dancing,his dream was devoted himself to join the battlefield and to serve the country.Since their values were not unified,Sheng chose an extreme method—she revealed his whereabouts to the Japanese,in exchange for his chance to stay around.As for the second line,Lvchuan was the best friend of Sheng and she gave up the idea of being a Japanese spy and they gradually had a kind of ambiguous affection.In general,my script draws on the Classical Design“Archplot”and sets in the history of Anti Japanese War with a phenomenon of pretty bourgeoisie and aestheticism.In order to highlight a narrative space like this,I choose a variety of exquisite images and gorgeous colours in my scripts.In addition,the rhythm would be relatively slow and lyrical,with which a tragic life of a girl would be told about.My thesis is an analysis of the truth of my heroine;her motivation was the“Anxiety of Identity”,including individual identity,gender identity and national identity.Because of the motivation,her desire was the“Pursuit for Love”,that is to say,she need to be surrounded by others’ love and approval to prove that she was someone valuable.
