Application Of Translation Variation Theory In Consecutive Interpreting

The translation variation theory is of considerable influence on translation,and its seven translation variation methods provide the basis for practical variation translation.This article explores the application of the seven translation variation methods into consecutive interpreting through the analysis of the interpreting of Chinese premier’s press conference in 2013The most efforts made by previous researches are poured into the close connections between the translation variation theory and translation as well as brief introduction of the theory to interpreting.Based on this circumstance,this research explores the advantage of the seven translation variation methods in consecutive interpreting so as to provide more practical guidance.After the analyses,it is found that the translation variation theory,which is of theoretical significance and practical value,can streamline the interpreter’s work and provide efficiency of information transfer.The seven translation variation methods,namely supplement,deletion,edition,summarization,reduction,combination and remodeling,can improve interpreting quality from various perspectives so that the audiences can receive the information smoothly.To make breakthrough in theoretical guidance and practical application,this paper has established the close relation between the translation variation theory and interpreting.On the other hand,by analyzing the specific examples in the interpreting of Chinese premier’s press conference in 2013,the paper has featured the significance of the seven translation variation methods,which is of highly practical value.
