| Since the implementation of curriculum reform,English teaching in primary schools has been greatly improved.However,although the new curriculum standard makes strict requirements for many aspects of English learning,and pays close attention to students’ practical application ability,there are still some problems that need to be found and solved in practical English teaching,such as phonetic teaching.Phonetics is the foundation of the whole language system and an indispensable part of English learning.It has certain influence and restriction on each module of students’ learning English.To explore the current situation of English phonetic teaching in primary schools,this study has read a large number of domestic and foreign English phonetic teaching literature,and summarized the research results in the field of phonetic teaching,combed the problems and shortcomings of previous studies,then analyzed the content and characteristics of phonetic teaching,designed teacher questionnaire,student questionnaire and phonetic test content,and investigated the present situation of phonetic teaching for teachers and students in S primary school in T city.This study uses the methods of literature analysis,investigation and test of students’ phonetic level to explore the problems existing in English phonetic teaching in primary schools,and puts forward corresponding solutions to these problems.The survey results show that the main problems for English phonetic teaching in primary schools are as follows :1.Students’ phonetic knowledge has not yet formed a system;2.Teacher’s teaching aim is to pay too much attention to examination;3.The lack of phonetic plate in teaching materials;4.The teaching method of phonetic curriculum is single and teachers are not skilled in teaching technology;5.The teaching time is limited and the evaluation system is not perfect.After analyzing the existing problems,in order to improve the English phonetic teaching in primary school more effectively,the corresponding solutions and suggestions are put forward for the existing problems.First of all,in terms of students,we should actively improve the students’ phonetic knowledge system,and the concept of examination-oriented education should be relatively weakened,the construction of a scientific English phonetic teaching model,which requires more in primary school English teaching materials to add phonetic knowledge teaching module.In the aspect of teachers,teachers should enrich their own phonetic teaching methods,improve their own skills of teaching by means of information technology,allocate theteaching time reasonably,and diversify the evaluation methods when evaluating students’ phonetic learning. |
