On Jin Shengtan’s Criticism Of Tang Poems

As the existing works that are The Selection of Tang Poems by Jin Shengtan and The Selection of Du’s Poems by Jin Shengtan,it has certain research significance.At the same time,the current academic scholars in the theory of poetry criticism is relatively single,lack of systematic and comprehensive.Starting from the texts of the two works,the analysis and discussion of the selection criteria and criticism methods of Jin Shengtan’s poetry criticism can not only help us to further correctly understand Jin Shengtan himself,but also help to further enrich and perfect his poetic aesthetic view and literary criticism theory.Both The Selection of Tang Poetry by Jin Shengtan and The Selection of Du’s Poems by Jin Shengtan were influenced by the politics,economy and culture of the late Ming Dynasty.In the two texts,people can also see that they are deeply influenced by the fusion of grotesque thoughts and sentimental literary thoughts caused by Jin Shengtan’s personal experience.Therefore,the creation of the two selected Tang poems is related to their background,personal experience and personality.In terms of poetry selection standards,both works have certain requirements on the standards of the times,forms as well as poetry education.In terms of the times,it admired poetry in the middle and late Tang Dynasty.In terms of the forms,it highly promoted the verses of Tang Dynasty,and paid special attention to changes in the transformation of the structure of verses.As for the poetry education,it not only requires that the ideas in the chosen poems must conform to the Confucian orthodox ideology,which has enlightening significance,but also requires that the emotions contained in the chosen poems be sincere and innovative.In addition,the criticism methods of the two works are mainly focused on the use of the "decomposition method" in the practice of criticism.This is mainly because it is deeply influenced by the previous thoughts and the style of stereotyped writing poetry.Under this influence,it adopts the "decomposition method" to discuss the poems,which mainly focuses on the analysis from the four aspects of constitution,syntax,rhetoric and title.Based on the above criticism methods,it has formed a unique characteristic of criticism.Jin Shengtan’s two selected poems of Tang Dynasty have a great influence on the selected works of Qing Dynasty.Xu Zeng and Zhao Chenyuan’s works have been influenced by the selection content,selection criteria,the thought of poetics and the criticism methods to varying degrees.
