Honorifics is a kind of language means to express the social relations between people and to adjust the psychological distance. There are certain similarities between Korean and Japanese, especially in honorific e’xpressions.Korean listener honorific(gye-ching),as a grammatical category of Korean honorifics, reflects the language etiquette in the conversation and reveals the relationship between the speaker and the listener. While Japanese honorific expressions often use Teineigo to show respect to the listener. As early as the edo period, the basic framework of Korean language education had been formed in Japan.By the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, many Korean language textbooks had been published in Japan.During this period,as a large introductory textbook of Korean language,DUXUEHANYUDACHENG was published in early 1905 to 1911 and printed seven times. It was a popular and representative study book among Korean language textbooks in Japan at that time. The document is compiled in the form of bilingual literal translation of Korean and Japanese, which is an important language material for the comparative analysis of Korean and Japanese language characteristics.Based on the Korean textbook DUXUEHANYUDACHENG published in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century, this paper focuses on the study and analysis of the Korean listener honorific(gye-ching)used in the textbook and the Japanese honorific expression of the translation.Combining with the background of the transition period of modern and contemporary languages at that time, this paper makes a comparative study on the features of honorific literal translation of asahi bilingualism. This paper applies the statistical analysis method in statistics and takes the conversation content of the second chapter of document as the main object to conduct statistics. To extract the different forms of expression of narrative sentence, interrogative sentence, imperative sentence, persuasive sentence and so on,and analyze their specific usage in the document one by one,,the implied relationship between listener and speaker, and the corresponding situation of asahi bilingual. This paper is mainly divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the author, historical background, writing purpose and system of DUXUEHANYUDACHENG.The second chapter makes statistics on all the Korean listener honorific(gye-ching)used in the textbook and analyzes the reasons for the different frequency of each order. Then combining with the existing research on Korean listener honorific(gye-ching),summarized a new system of Korean honorific in DUXUEHANYUDACHENG.The third chapter first discusses the characteristics and forms of Japanese Teineigo in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, then analyzes the corresponding forms of honorific in Korean and Japanese literal translation with specific examples, and compares the degree of respect shown by each form of honorific in the two languages. The fourth chapter summarizes the results of the above analysis and makes a specific summary of the honorific expressions in Korean and Japanese.
