| The mine ventilation system plays a significant role in the mine production system,and its reasonable design has an important impact on mine safety and economic benefits.Therefore,in order to guarantee the smooth operation of mining work and ensure the personal safety of mine workers,enterprises should attach great importance to the safety evaluation of the mine ventilation system.Based on this,the translation research on advanced technology of mine ventilation has certain academic significance and referential value.The source text is excerpted from the book Advanced Mine Ventilation-Respirable Coal Dust,Combustible Gas and Mine Fire published in 2018.The translation practice report is composed of four chapters.Chapter One briefly introduces the translation tasks,which includes the introduction to the source text,features of the source text and significance of the task.Chapter Two describes the translation process and gives an overview of Relevance Theory.In Chapter Three,according to Relevance Theory,the translator conducts case analysis from three aspects,including lexical level,syntactic level and textual level.Chapter Four is the conclusion of the report,which summarizes the translation experience in EST(English for Science and Technology)texts,and puts forward the limitations of this translation practice and the prospect for the future translation work.Through this translation practice,the translator finds that the technical terms,nominalized structures,passive sentences,long sentences and attributive clauses in the source text can be translated by using some translation methods such as amplification,conversion and reconstruction,etc..At the same time,the translation strategy of consistency with source text style and coherent expressions can be used to realize the optimal relevance,so as to improve the translation quality of EST texts.The translator hopes that the translation report can provide some reference for the translation of similar texts. |
