| Xia Bingheng was a literati playwright in the middle of the Qing dynasty.He wrote a collection of poems and essays “the early collection of the Qing Qixuan ”,an Drama set “the legend of the Qiu Shui hall”(“the Ba Bao box”,“the Shuang Cui garden” and “the Great poet-saint”),and edited the “Qing Qixuan ci anthology”.The legend of Qiu Shui hall is a typical literary drama,which was created in the later period of the struggle between local opera and Kun opera.It is the epitome of the struggle of literati drama to show the unremitting efforts made by the writers to revive "Kun opera".But in the existing drama research,Xia Bingheng’s drama works are not high attention.Most of the time they appear in the opera catalogue series,with only the title and introduction left,and only a few scholars can make a brief analysis of the opera content.Based on Xia Bingheng’s poetry and opera creation,this paper makes a detailed and in-depth study of his works in combination with the creation environment of a specific historical period,aims to explore the rich ideological implication and unique artistic characteristics of Xia Bingheng’s operas,and the reasons for their formation through theexploration of the specific works.Also through the comparison with other dramas with the same theme,the author finds out the deficiencies of his creation accurately,and the positioning of the legend of Qiu Shui hall in the history of opera.In addition to the introduction which briefly introduces the origin of the topic,research status,research methods and innovation points,this paper is mainly composed of four parts.The first part is the first chapter,which mainly summarizes Xia Bingheng’s life experience and literary creation,as well as the influence of his experience on his opera creation.The second part is the second chapter,which takes the opera content as an important research object,and analyzes the rich thoughts contained in the three operas of the legend of Qiu Shui hall,which not only praises the legendary women,heroes of justice,loyal ministers and generals,but also promotes the correct view of marriage and love,and criticizes the dark social phenomenon and system at that time,with profound implications.The third part is the third chapter,which makes a comprehensive and in-depth study on the artistic characteristics of opera,mainly from the four perspectives of plot structure,character image building,opera language and tragic art,and explores the reasons for the formation of artistic characteristics.The fourth part is the last chapter,which shows the shortcomings and historical positioning of the legend of Qiu Shui hall by comparing the operas with the theme. |
