English assignment is one of the important ways to test whether students have achieved their English learning goals.The commonly types of English assignment in junior high school include dictation,translation,grammar exercises,writing,oral exercises and so on.The forms of English assignment feedback should be different for different types of English assignment.While English assignment feedback is an imperative part in English teaching and plays an important role in curriculum reform,and it affects the development of students’ comprehensive ability.Assignment feedback consists of two parts: assignment correction and assignment comment.The subject of assignment correction and comment is not only the teacher,but also students.Therefore,students should actively participate in the correction and comment of assignment.The intersubjectivity emphasizes that both teachers and students are the subjects of teaching,and teachers should create a relaxed learning environment for students in the classroom,and encourage students to actively participate in the classroom.Based on the theory of intersubjectivity,this paper selects 185 students and their English teachers from four classes in the seventh grade of a junior high school in Changzhou City.And the paper aims to answer the following research questions by means of questionnaire,interview and observation:1)What is the current situation of English assignment feedback in junior high school?2)How can we solve the existing problems of English assignment feedback?The results show that junior high school students are aware of the importance of assignment correction and assignment comment;in addition,teachers are able to actively correct and comment on students’ English assignment.And in the process ofcommenting,teachers mainly focus on the fallible and key questions,and they expand the knowledge properly.However,there are the following problems in English assignment feedback: the atmosphere of comment is tense and the students are not active in class;the correction symbol is monotonous and lack of targeted comments;the subject of feedback is single and lack of interaction between teachers and students.In view of the problems existing in the present situation of assignment feedback,this paper gives the following suggestions: to create a relaxed and harmonious classroom atmosphere and strengthen students’ learning enthusiasm;to use correction symbols flexibly and increase targeted comments;to realize the role of students’ subjectivity and enhance teacher-student interaction.
